The Ups and Downs of Travel.

This hotel was local to my mother's new retirement home in Maine. She downsized considerably and really did not have room for my family to stay with her. So, we needed a hotel for a one-night stay. [更多] The price was "OK" for the area and time of year. The hotel had been updated but more than a few years ago, not recently if you know what I mean. the breakfast was good but uninspiring. When we got downstairs, there was no beacon and or ham and or sausage etc. available. Finally, the young man who was working the front desk should not be working in any form of customer service and or public relations. He was rude, ill-mannered and extremely unprofessional with guests checking in before us. One individual asked to speak with the manager on duty and he lied and said there was no manager available. This same guest then asked to speak with whoever was the regional manager and the clerk stated he did not know who that was or how to reach that person. In frustration, this man then stated he would contact IHG corporate then, and the clerk replied "go ahead" in a very sarcastic tone in his voice. Seeing this exchange upset me. I just got my room key and went to my room as we did not want to have any additional contact with this individual than was absolutely necessary. The clerk clearly acted like he owned the place or was related to an owner/top manager of this property etc. This kind of behavior reflects very badly on both the individual hotel and the corporate Good Will - image and reputation of IHG. On way from RI to ME for combination work / business. Schedule semi - flexible so was able to look for value as well as location. This hotel was convenient and quiet. Good value prior to getting [更多] to Portland [更少]
