Featured Shanghai Hotels

From its soaring modern skyline to its lush gardens and palaces, Shanghai has long been a place of fascinating intersections. Both a historic epicenter of global trade and a city bisected into two distinct cores by the Huangpu River, our wide range of Shanghai hotels will help you experience these pleasing contradictions firsthand.
Get to know Shanghai’s dramatic skyline from the vertiginous observation deck of the Shanghai World Financial Center’s 100th floor. From there, hit the Riverside Promenade in the Bund District to begin to get a feel for the city and its lively mix of old and new. Here, the original trading houses and consulates of European nations line the riverfront. Located within the old walled city, the City God Temple is a large complex of roofs eaved in traditional Chinese style, with serene tea houses and pavilions that help you forget you are in one of the world’s largest cities. From there, stroll to the nearby Yuyuan Garden, a 16th century monument to tranquility that boasts the Exquisite Jade Rock, an impressive boulder that is rumored to have been salvaged from a shipwrecked shipment bound for the Chinese emperor.
Cross the river to Pudong, Shanghai’s center of modernity, and crane your neck to view the Oriental Pearl Tower, a true symbol of the city. Many are drawn by the pull of Nanjing Road’s buzzing neon streets, and you’ll see why once you witness the spectacle of boutiques, scrumptious traditional dining, and people watching for yourself. The Yuyuan Bazaar offers more
traditional Chinese shopping opportunities, and an ideal spot to try some piping hot dumplings. Learn more about the past and current history of the city while indulging in a glitzy night out at the one-of-a-kind Shanghai Circus World. During this spectacular show, scenes of Chinese history are brought to life through a mix of dance, acrobatics, and martial arts synchronized with a music and light show.

1st stay in Holiday Inn Express in Shanghai
By tsamson
From the past experience with Holiday Inn, the breakfast is hot and with enough varieties but somehow this hotel does not provide hot breakfast particularly the pan fried eggs were prepared properly [More] an hour ago which is no good for guest. Fortunately the hot coffee still maintain its good taste anyway. [Less]
Slept Away Fatigue
By Jamasian
The bed is very comfortable compared to standard Chinese hotels in the same price range. Water was hot enough and the room was clean. Breakfast is very local, but they offer toast and eggs and [More] even cereal. The dining room is huge with just round tables. Unfortunately they don't seem to do small gifts or anything for birthdays. Staff did congratulate me when I asked (you never know). [Less]
good experience
By Ivy882
overall the experience is good, the view of the room is great! only one small thing is that the shower hot/cold water control is facing front and every time when I try to turn my back I may [More] accidently turn off the water or change the water from hot to cold [Less]

Comfortable but staff needs training

Nice hotel. Not much in the area. Staff is not at all well trained though they tried their best to be helpful. Selection of main hotel restaurant menu was not good. [Less]
Good value, nice room and convenient for meetings
By NickUK1234
Very comfortable and clean room, and also very helpful staff. Breakfast also great and varied. Hotel is let down by the rather limited choice of food available on the a la carte menu, and during [More] my recent stay a very high proportion of the wines on the menu were also out of stock. The bar in the evening is poorly attended and there is no entertainment, but it is only a 10-15 minute walk to a mall where there are many good restaurants and lively bars. [Less]
Good sleep, but breakfast not up to the standards
By Businesstraveler40
I am often staying with Indigo hotel at the Bund when I am traveling to Shanghai as my company has an agreement with the hotel as it has a convenient location. The rooms are good, but Ihe Quay [More] restaurant at 6th which serves the breakfast is not up to the standards you should expect: 1. The tables with white basis are impossible to be seated properly with as the white "box" blocks the legs. 2. The grey seats are dirty and could need a proper cleaning or to be swapped. Not very delicate when you eat (see photo). 3. The staff is friendly, but it takes too long to serve coffee - and many times they forget (usually I have to ask 2-3 times). 4. There could be a larger and more varied menu for breakfast. The staff working in this environment several hours a day probably do not notice the dirty seats or what room there is for improvement. Nice Hotel
By JimC1212
Pleasant stay, as always. The decor and styling continue to impress. I do however feel it tries a little too hard. It would benefir ftom improved lighting in the lobby near the lifts. Personally I [More] think reakfast should not be served in a frying pan. [Less]
Excellent breakfast, cute rooms
By Hannah523
Really neat boutique hotel with cool rooms and a great breakfast buffet [Less]
