Featured Berlin Hotels

For 18 years Berlin was defined by the wall that separated West Berlin from the German Democratic Republic (GDR) of East Germany. Since the Berlin Wall fell in November 1989, Berlin has once again merged into a thriving cosmopolitan city with outstanding diversity and world-renowned attractions.
Berlin is over nine times larger than Paris, with more brides than Venice. Though it houses ample historic and cultural sites as well as shopping, dining, and entertainment, these attractions cover just 66 percent of the city. The remaining 44 percent of Berlin is home to 2,500 public parks, gardens, woods, and rivers, offering a refreshing green retreat amid the urban highlights.
Charlottenburg is the largest Hohenzollern palace surviving today, and it offers a resplendent look into Berlin's more glamorous history. Originally constructed as a summer home for Queen Sophie Charlotte of Prussia, the oldest parts of the palace date back to 1695. You can tour the baroque gardens outside as well as many interior parts of the Schloss Charlottenburg.
For a delightfully cultural agenda, head to Museum Island, where you can take in stunning art, architecture, and antiquities. You can also treat your ears to one of the best orchestras in the world in this city, the Berliner Philharmoniker.
The Berlin Zoo offers a softer side of Berlin, with residents that include hippos, gorillas, king penguins, pelicans, brown bears, and more. When you're ready for some fresh air, visit the Grunewald forest or sprawling Tiergarten. Take a soaring look at all of Berlin at least once before your departure with a trip to the TV Tower. Viewing points over 660 feet in the air offer a 360-degree view of the city.

Quiet location but close to everything
By Pilbara1953
First visit to Berlin on holiday and uncertain which district was most suitable for a short stay. Decided on Alexanderplatz and was not disappointed. Alexanderplatz itself is a busy public area with [More] shopping and transport interchanges but the hotel is tucked a short walk away among offices and apartments. We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade so had the added benefit of a balcony on the top floor. So we could look out over the city - close to TV tower if you want an even better view! Reception staff extremely helpful (their English was much better than my German) and provided advice on local transport. Only used restaurant for breakfast. Quite small and selection of food a little limited but everything was fresh and tasty. Room was clean and spacious. I particularly liked the walk-in shower. My only slight criticism is that the bedding was probably more suited to winter than summer. Would definitely stay here again. [Less]
Comfortable stay in a perfect city centre location
Stayed at the Hotel Indigo for 3 nights last week. The first impression of the hotel was very good and the service from the staff very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, quirky and finished [More] to a very high standard. My only criticism is I felt the room a little small and there was quite loud tram noise during the night right outside the room. However, they provided ear plugs when asked so wasn't much of an issue. Bed was very comfortable and the pillows wonderful. Had a drink at the bar on the final night which was absolutely delicious if a little pricey! The Gym facilities are very good and although we didn't use the restaurant it looked beautiful and very cosy. The location of Hotel Indigo was perfect for a city centre break either for work of for pleasure. You have the underground, buses, overground and train station all within 3 minutes walk of the hotel. If ever visiting Berlin on another occasion, I would definitely stay here again. [Less]

Nice hotel in excellent location
By Biminiblue
PROS: Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are very small but comfortable and clean, with nice amenities (coffee, bathroom supplies). Excellent location one block from Ku'damm [More] shopping. CONS: The bathroom door is a sliding door and does not completely close, that is a bit uncomfortable if you travel with a companion. We were disappointed with the bar service because THERE WAS NO BAR SERVICE!!! We tried several times in the evening to have a drink but there was no one in the bar; and there was also no food service. The good thing is that there are a few restaurant just one block away, and some sausage stands! If you want to sleep well you have to keep the windows closed because of the noise level from the street. The pillows were a bit too thick for my taste, but after I asked I was immediately supplied with additional thinner pillows. [Less]
