Featured Madrid Hotels

Madrid, the Spanish capital since the 16th century, is a city that embraces its glorious past even as it celebrates its promising future as one of Europe's crown jewels. The home of Emperor Carlos V, Madrid was the seat of power of one of the largest global empires in history, and remnants of its majesty remain throughout the city.
Perhaps Madrid's most impressive cultural legacy is its art collections of both early masters and contemporary artists. The Prado, one of the most visited sites in Europe, contains the finest collection of Spanish art in the world, as well as one of the most comprehensive collections of European art from the 13th through 19th centuries. The Reina Sofia is world famous for its contemporary art. Smaller yet no less impressive museums, such as the CaixaForum and the Lazaro Galdiano, are also definitely worth exploring.
The juxtaposition of the city's iconic red-tiled roofs and cobblestone streets with gleaming modern skyscrapers is yet another element of the charm of Madrid. The old and the modern coexist beautifully in this thriving and bustling city; you can find Madrid hotels with every level of amenity and comfort for the perfect Spanish vacation.
May, when the city celebrates the San Isidro fiestas. Look for hotels in Madrid near the Salamanca district to be close to the excitement.
Spain is famous for tapas, and a tasca crawl is definitely in order. Tascas, or tapas bars, are everywhere and feature exotic ingredients such as bull testicles and lamb sweetbreads in addition to classic favorites such as shrimp, chorizo, and gazpacho. Wander along Ventura de la Vega or Calle de Cuchilleros for an authentic tasca experience.
The Rastro, Madrid's huge market dating back to the 16th century, is an experience for travelers who love the haggling to and fro of bargain shopping with local merchants. You'll find everything from antiques to used clothing to religious relics and tchotchkes. The Rastro is located on the Calle Ribera di Curtidores; get there early and be prepared for jostling crowds.
Spend a day exploring the glorious gardens and museums in Parque de Retiro, a favorite of Queen Isabella. Sunday mornings are the most interesting, with fortune tellers and magicians delighting visitors, and lazy pleasure boats gliding along the lake. Some of the finest hotels in Spain are found near stately Retiro park.
Not for the faint-hearted, Madrid's nightlife is something that must be experienced to be believed. The clubs are wild, chaotic, exuberant, and exciting. It's also not for early birds; the action rarely starts before midnight and goes all night long.

Great Location and Hotel

Amazing experience from arrival to departure. Nothing more I can say. [Less]
Out of town not out on a limb
By Chaly18
Lovely hotel that is exactly what you would expect from the Intercontinental mark, a luxury venue, spacious, clean and excellent staff. Price reflects the ambience put was worth the experience. [More] Slightly out of the old town cultural centre but right on the doorstep of Real Madrid's stadium only a 15 minute walk. Metro station only 5 minutes away with great service around the city and the ticket machines are multi lingual. [Less]
Brilliant concierges and great breakfasts
By Angela R
We stayed here in February 2017 with a group and extended our stay for a couple of extra days. We were given a nice upgrade to a Club Room due to our Gold Ambassador status but were disappointed to [More] be told this did not include access to the Club Lounge, for which the hotel charged an additional 55 Euros a night. We thought this was a bit much for our six-night stay and while it would have been nice to be able to relax in the lounge, truth to tell, we managed pretty well. The staff were friendly and helpful and the Concierges were outstanding, from the warmth of their smiles to the breadth of their knowledge. Our chambermaid was a little absent-minded and we frequently found items were not routinely replaced in the bathroom sometimes we were missing bath towels, occasionally we ran out of the lovely L'Occitane toiletries. But when we phoned down to request them they were delivered promptly and with a smile. Breakfasts were excellent with a generous range of items and wonderful fruit. We dined in the hotel restaurant on one evening and whilst the service was attentive, we thought it expensive for the quality of the meal. The Spa was excellent - both massage and facial treatment amongst the best we have had. Location good with plenty of restaurants in the area. Would definitely stay here again. [Less]
Good place to rest and nice service

It is a nice place to rest as the place is quiet. Hotel personnel looked friendly, so the environment was good. [Less]
Great Little Hotel
By MariaCA
With the exception that the soap dispenser in my bathtub was not working. Everything else was great. If they had a Gym at this property it would have been perfect. That is why I am only giving them [More] a 4/5 rating. [Less]
Good stopover on way to airport

I think Holiday Inn should provide complimentary mineral water in the rooms, as do many other hotel chains these days. [Less]
Arrived late and left early in the morning
Arrived late and left early in the morning, so not long to appreciate all the facilities at this hotel. I was comfortable and the staff were efficient. [Less]
Nice Break
By Tosherooh
We travelled as a group to watch football match. Hotel was only a 10 min walk from stadium [Less]
Nice relaxing stay
By DT12
The location of the hotel is great, train station is right on the doorstep, 10 minutes to the town and 45 minutes direct to Madrid Airport. Hotel staff were very friendy and helpful with all our [More] questions. Unfortunately, we couldnt have dinner at the restaurant as they didn't open until 8pm so ended up at the pub across the street which wasn't very nice for the kids but for anyone who wanted a drink I suppose it would have been ok. Would definitely stay again. [Less]
