Things to See

Anaheim is most famous for housing the original Disneyland, which opened in 1955, as well as California Adventure—a Disneyland addition that opened about 15 years ago. However, there are many other interesting activities in Anaheim to pique your interest outside of those created by Disney and other big names. Catch some Anaheim Ducks hockey (their training facility is open for public skating sessions daily!) or a LA Angels baseball game to get your sports fix, or visit Anaheim Garden Walk for shopping, movies, bowling, and dining. Anaheim’s historic district has been recently renovated to now include the Packing House, unique restaurants, shops, and a farmer’s market. To get out of the city a bit, check out the neighboring cities of Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and San Diego by train or car, or Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, boasting roller coasters and a waterpark.

Hotels in Anaheim

Whether you’re staying in directly in Anaheim or neighboring cities like Fullerton, Garden Grove, or Buena Park, IHG has cozy hotels to keep you close to your main destinations. Our hotels offer convenient amenities for your vacation, from free Wi-Fi to fully-equipped kitchens.

Where to Stay

Staying in the Anaheim Resort District keeps you close to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure as well as the Anaheim Convention Center. This area also keeps you in short driving distance from Newport, Huntington, and Laguna Beaches as well as Universal Studios Hollywood, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, San Diego Zoo, and Six Flags Magic Mountain. For business trips, you may consider staying in the aforementioned cities surrounding Anaheim to avoid resort crowds.

How to Get to Anaheim

If flying to Anaheim, you’ll arrive at either John Wayne Airport at Santa Ana (SNA), Long Beach Airport (LGB), or the larger Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). If you don’t opt for taking a shuttle or train to your destination from the airport, travelling by car from the airport to your hotel can take between 20 minutes and an hour. Once you’re in the city, Anaheim Resort Transportation can bring you to many popular tourist destinations via shuttle, while Orange County Transit Authority offers bus service within the city and surrounding areas. Anaheim is known as a very safe place regularly patrolled by police.

Great Everything
By DG&C
We had a great experience with Crowne Plaza in San Pedro. We used the park and sail. Parking was easy and convenient. Staff were wonderful. They answered all our questions. The room was great. The [More] shuttle service was a bit confusing, because their were so many people in the lobby. Called the hotel when the ship got in port and we had our luggage. The wait was about 20 mins. We had a full ship, and just missed the other shuttle. This is an excellent way to start and end your vacation. I would definitely use Crowne Plaza again. We already booked our next stay with them. Pre -cruise stay
By Cruiser
We stayed one night before taking a cruise. The hotel was clean and well appointed. The staff was very friendly. There were several restaurants nearby. There was a nice walking jogging path along [More] the port area. Our only complaint would be there wasn't anyway to adjust the heating/ air. [Less]

Everything was great until the air conditioner went out but we didn't notice it till the day after. We came back from Disneyland and the room was super hot! Before we left the room we turned up the [More] A/C. [Less]
Quick easy access.
By Billy
Quick easy access of I-5, food and fuel locations in abundance. 1/2 mile walking distance to Down Town Disney. 3/4 mile to the Mono Rail. 1-1/4 mile to park entrance. If you want to ride the Mono [More] Rail into the park, you MUST have pre-purchased your ticket. you can not purchase tickets at the Mono Rail. So get them at the Hotel, get them online or walk all the way to the ticket offices at the park entrance. This Hotel is located in a nice clean quiet area about 1/2 mile west of I-5. Its a Hotel, not your house, its not the Crown Ritz Royal Garden, Although it was nice and clean. If your plan is to leave home and spend the weekend in a hotel then your vacationing wrong. Hotels are for sleeping. Good eats are not found in Hotels, neither are vacation memories, you can not enjoy the sites sounds and culture of an area spending time cooped up in a hotel. [Less]
Good value, nice location
By Sharksfan25
The hotel is in a great location, but despite being behind the "Mickey and Friends" garage, you'll still be reliant upon ART to get to Disneyland or a bit of a walk to Downtown Disney for the [More] Monorail (a walk you may not wish to make back when you're feet are tired at the end of the day). Disney has virtually cut-off access to the park shuttle @ the parking structure to anyone not parking in the garage. (tip, though, you can take the park shuttle back on the way out, go to the second floor of the garage and walk all the way across to the stairway, then exit out to Ball Road. / West Pl. through the employee parking lot. You can get to the Holiday Inn through the adjacent hotel parking lot from Ball Rd.) The room was overall comfortable, though things like the valences in our room could use a really good cleaning. Our only real complaint about the hotel was that one of the exterior doors was really hard to open and the key card system doesn't work very well (readers probably need cleaning). Otherwise, great value for the money! Note that when you pull up, you either have to pull in the driveway the wrong way or go all the way down to Magic Way to make a U-turn. The driveway is a bit blind, so pull in carefully, regardless of which way you come in. The restaurant and room service end rather early (considering normal park closing times), but there are plenty of places on Harbor Blvd. for late-night eating. [Less]
