Featured San Francisco Hotels

San Francisco's vibrant arts scene, exciting tourist attractions, and successful companies make it the ideal destination for pleasure seekers and business travelers. No matter whether you're pursuing professional opportunities or looking for a little rest and relaxation, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®) hotels provide an ideal base for your San Francisco adventures. Things to See
No matter where you stay in San Francisco, you'll find amazing things to see and do close to your doorstep. Its rich arts heritage is celebrated at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Asian Art Museum, and the de Young Museum. The spirits of Beatnik writers and rock musicians who once called Haight-Ashbury home are ever-present on its colorful streets, and some would say that no San Francisco trip is complete without a visit to Alcatraz Island and its former high-security prison.

Kids love meeting San Francisco's animal residents, from the exotic creatures at the zoo to the sea lions congregating on Pier 39. The Exploratorium and wax museum will keep little ones entertained.

Hotels in San Francisco
San Francisco has a diverse range of hotels, from luxurious downtown establishments to budget-friendly chain hotels near the airport and Fisherman's Wharf. Bed-and-breakfasts around Nob Hill and the Mission District give travelers a taste of true San Francisco hospitality.

No matter where you stay, you'll find it easy to explore San Francisco on foot or using public transport. Local
neighborhoods are small and easily navigated, so even newcomers find their way around using buses, streetcars, and cable cars on the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency which allow you to leave your car behind and explore areas outside your hotel.

Where to Stay
San Francisco's downtown area is home to some of the city's most upmarket hotels and designer label stores. If the area's too rich for your blood or banking plans, it's still fun to people-watch from a Maiden Lane café. Most tourists prefer to stay north of downtown in the Fisherman's Wharf area, where they can stroll along the pier, catch the ferry to Alcatraz Island, and chow down on some of San Francisco's best seafood.

Aging hippies and music buffs love the Haight-Ashbury nostalgia, while Japan Town offers a taste of Asia with authentic sushi, relaxing day spas and Kabuki theater. If business is what brings you to San Francisco, consider staying in the Financial District or the South of Market area, which puts you close to the Moscone Convention Center, and leading design and tech firms.

How to Get to San Francisco
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is one of the largest in the country and a natural choice for many air passengers traveling to San Francisco. Most major airlines around the world operate flights to SFO, which lies 13 miles from the downtown district. Travelers staying near Union Square or the Convention Center will find catching the BART public transportation system from the airport to be convenient, but a cab can save you a long walk if you're staying near the waterfront. Certain hotels also operate shuttle services for their guests, so be sure to ask.

Alternatively, consider flying in to Oakland or San Jose, which are both within easy reach of San Francisco. Shuttle services operate along the 25 miles between Oakland International Airport and San Francisco. San Jose International Airport is twice that distance removed from San Francisco, but you can easily catch the CalTrain or a shuttle bus back to the city. Often the flights to these smaller airports are cheaper, and they're not prone to the delays that often come when flying through the fog back into SFO.

Great customer service
By TravelingLady3333
A little background, I am an International Event Planner for UC Davis. As such, I travel the world and organize large events so I work closely with hotels and their staff. This also enables me to see [More] how often you receive negative feedback more often than compliments thus I am compelled to send messages for positive feedback when I experience them. I stayed with your hotel on Friday night as a result of my husband (an oil refinery industry training instructor and retired Air Force Commander) being called in unexpectedly to teach a class Friday night and Saturday morning. So this was not my event. However as I am sure you know, us Event Planners are never OFF duty when traveling. Thus, I kicked into action as he handled getting organized for the 7:00 p.m. class Friday night. Since you handle all the guests from the oil refineries during their "projects" you know these men are rugged, exhausted from working 14 hour days, and usually they are happy about the mandatory training especially when they have a bed waiting elsewhere at the hotel just waiting for them to collapse in. After talking with the first few people coming into the class, I learned they had worked all day and not eaten for hours as they faced the 7 pm to 11 pm class with us that night. So off I headed to the lobby to see what sources of food I could come up with on a short notice with least expense (because this was coming out of my pocket not to be reimbursed). Joshua Rivera and several others in the restaurant that evening quickly set about asking me if I needed help as I walked through toward the lobby. It was so welcome. They gave me information on local source and even helped me place the order. It may not seem like much really to someone else, but to me that evening it was everything to be offered assistance. I appreciate the great customer service and their positive representation of the hotel. So hopefully you can let them all know you received my email and thank them again for me. [Less]
Great for staying but not for food
By thetravelingangel
The room was great. The food was meh. I was seated at a table that was set up with clean silverware. The table had a red ring on it. The waiter never cleaned it. FIRST FLAG. The breakfast buffet [More] had bacon (lack luster), sausage links, potatoes, french toast (soggy), oatmeal, hot cereal and a few pastries. Also, coffee, orange and cranberry juice. I ordered scrambled and never received them. The waiter had 3 tables. The place wasn't busy at all. He was busy chatting with the other servers. Honestly, I should have gotten it the car and went to a local diner. Would have been cheaper, better service and definitely better food. The coffee - I had to choke it down. Very acidic and tasted like it had been sitting for hours. I got there at 7:30 AM and the buffet opens at 6:30 AM so I had a hard time thinking it was me. For dinner I had the beet salad (Really Good) and mac and cheese. I was really impressed with the beet salad. The mac and cheese was fake cheese and not even good fake cheese. Definitely no need to have the mac and cheese again. I think it is a decent place for the price but not to eat. [Less]
Beautiful Property

Love the pool and the layout. Breakfast area is cramped. The fitness center is a joke. But I'll be back for that pool and hot tub. Thanks for a great stay! [Less]

Muchas Gracias we enjoyed our stayed here at your hotel. We were treated with excellent hospitality the moment we arrived. The staff always greeted us with hellos and smiles making us feel welcomed. [More] Our rooms were fresh, tidy and clean. My grandchildren enjoyed the evening treat of s'mores by the fireplace. The morning breakfast was a hit we all enjoyed it. We will be making this a family vacation road stop at Mill Valley in the future. We gave it 5 thumbs up. [Less]

Great Hotel for a One Night Stay
By svdoug
This is a perfect hotel if you are just going to be in Walnut Creek for a short stay. Rooms come with a refrigerator so can get anything you want at Sprouts which is a five minute drive down the [More] street. Good comfortable room. Very close to the freeway and parking is easy. Only downside is very limited equipment in the exercise room but an option is to pay $10 for a pass to the health club across the street. [Less]
Sraff attentive and helpful, bed comfortable. liked having the tablet .
By norahs74
Overall, good experience. However, two things, the room had funny smell and I thought it was cigarettes but now think maybe it was cleaning supplies used. Also the shampoo and conditioner in bathroom [More] were very difficult to open and use. That needs to be better. Liked having the refrigerator and microwave in room Having a tablet in each room was great. Also it would be helpful if shuttle service to BART ran on weekends. [Less]
