Featured Savannah Hotels

Affectionately named the “the Hostess City of the South”, Savannah is known for small-town charm and classic southern hospitality. The city boasts the largest historic district in the United States, 22 cobblestone squares lined with historic homes and gardens (which now been restored and turned into restaurants), museums and hotels. Savannah's IHG® hotels are great stay options for travelers looking for a historic, music-centric, and artistic adventure unlike any other.

Things to See

Savannah has countless experiences in store for those who visit. A carriage ride through the historic district, passing by all of the extraordinary architecture dating back to pre-Civil War times, is a must. Some of the homes that remain, such as The Juliette Gordon Low House and The Mercer Williams House, have been converted into historic museums. With so much history running through Savannah’s streets, some of its past seems to linger after dark. You don’t want to miss the chance to take a ghost tour through the historic district and the beautifully haunting Bonaventure Cemetery. A visit to River Street is essential for some of the best places to eat and shop right along the Savannah Riverfront, where you can get your fix of southern-style home cooking, BBQ, and dishes influenced by Carolina’s Low Country cuisine. Savannah’s culture and natural beauty flirt with innovation and a lively art scene fueled by the Savannah College of Art and Design. Everywhere you turn, you’ll find galleries, museums, and an eclectic mix of up-and-coming artists that offer everything from mixed media work, modern takes on classics, and traditional art.

Hotels in Savannah

Whether you plan to stay downtown in the midst of historic district or in other areas of Savannah, you’ll find a wide range of options with IHG®. From boutique offerings and luxurious historical hotels to family-friendly alternatives, consider yourself covered. With a variety of room types and amenities, finding a location and style suitable for the activities you have planned for your trip is simple.

Where to Stay

Downtown Savannah (also home to the historic district) is a popular area for many travelers, as it full of restaurants and shops. Spanish moss and azalea blossoms line the parks, accentuating the sense of creativity and artistic energy that encapsulate the city. Located near downtown, the midtown area is more residential with unique, locally owned shops and beautiful 20thcentury homes. If you seek a location near the airport, the Greater Savannah area is convenient and just minutes from River Street and the historic district.

How to Get to Savannah

The Savannah/Hilton Head Island International Airport (SAV) is the most convenient option for flying. The airport offers shuttle and cab services as well as car rentals onsite so you can easily get around the area. The Chatham Area Transit and The Dot are your two options for public transportation, each offering affordable prices and the convenience of multiple routes to get you to and from your destinations. Savannah is an extremely pedestrian-friendly city, or you have the option of pedicabs and horse-drawn carriages to explore the area at a leisurely pace.

First but not last visit

We travelled to Savannah for our 31st anniversary and stayed at the Staybridge Suites. The location was excellent, just a short walk to the river shops and eateries. The accommodations were [More] comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and attentive and the facilities and amenities were adequate. This is a really good location for your stay in Savannah. Great place to stay for a quick stop and go in SAV....access to most historic areas and food establishments. Staff particularly friendly and helpful. Have stayed at this facility in the past and [More] will do so again...highest endorsement!! [Less]
Nicely appointed and great location
By dori16
The beds were comfortable, enjoyed the complementary breakfast each morning, and the staff was always smiling and willing to help. The location is great for visiting the historic district. Though [More] the noise from Bay Street was not noticeable, sound proofing between floors was not great. We could hear people talking in the room above us. [Less]

Lovely comfortable bed. Friendly helpful service.

We were traveling on the I 95 corridor and knew we would have a late arrival. When we arrived the desk clerk was very cheerful and helpful. She put us into a room that wasn't made up, but when she [More] realized that Housekeeping hadn't cleaned it she quickly assigned us to another room and was all apologies. We were tired so after dinner at Ruby Tuesdays we went back to the room for a good night's sleep. [Less]
Wonderful Friendly Staff
By IHG points member
I stayed at the Savannah I-95 Gateway this past Feb.6th on my way to Fl. I had such a wonderful experience that I had to share. I booked my rm in advance, but my parents ended up travelling with me [More] and they didn't have a reservation. They were in the parking lot calling other hotels for prices, when Tahera the front desk clerk, came running out to the parking lot yelling for them to not book with another hotel. They were able to find a way to offer my parents a rm comparable to the other hotels they were calling, and keep our group together. Tahera acknowledged my IHG Rewards Club status, and treated my parents as though they were Platinum Elite members also. This hotel also has its own restaurant with a bar, and its the first hotel I have stayed at that offered a complimentary drink for Platinum Elite point members. Tahera extended this gracious offer to my parents also which they couldn't believe! They commented that they were beginning to understand why I chose to be an IHG points member, and why I choose to stay at this chain of hotels in my travels. We checked into our beautiful clean rooms, and made our way to the bar for a relaxing drink after our long drive. We were commenting amongst ourselves about how accommodating Tahera was, when were greeted at the bar by Adrian. She turned out to be as friendly and pleasant as Tahera and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, and had everything we needed. The next morning we were up early for another long drive, when we were greeted again by a friendly staff member at the breakfast area. Her name unfortunately escapes me, but she also deserves as much acknowledgment as the others. Our stay at the Gateway Inn set the bar for every other hotel we stayed at for our vacation, and we compared every other hotel we stayed at to them. Unfortunately none of the others could match our experience. Our stay at the I-95 Gateway reminded me of why I choose to support IHG hotels, and it made a lasting impression on my parents who typically seek the more inexpensive brands of hotels. This one location, was able to change my parents view on Holiday Inn, and IHG as a whole to the point that they intend to seek these out on their future travels. I live in Canada, but I will go out of my way to stay at this hotel again if I am ever in the area. [Less]
