Better than most

I've stayed in a variety of hotels these past few weeks and I enjoyed this stay. The rooms were clean and nice. I loved the dark shades and breakfast had a great selection. [Less]
Very Comfortable
By Simply Candy Baby
I had a really nice stay; although I did not have much to no interaction with staff nor use the hotel facilities my stay was pleasant. I wish the pool was bigger if so I would have used it. My room [More] was clean and ready for use, complimentary breakfast was great! I will be using this hotel again. [Less]
Cozy in Coon Rapids
By PdawgNS
I've stayed at many Hotel Inns and Suites throughout the years and this location is if not the best, in the Top 2 or 3 that I recall--worldwide--for me thus far. My girlfriend and I had a very nice [More] stay. The staff was friendly and attentive from check-in to check-out; and the continental breakfast was pretty good too! [Less]
Excellent service with dated rooms
By Hart1977
I heartily recommend this hotel to anyone with families a and the love of water parks, this place is unbelievable and an oasis in the water park. The hotel rooms are a bit on the dated side, I had a [More] suite with no windows, except in the bedroom, the lack of furniture and darkness definitely gave it that institution feel. [Less]
Great place for baca- but defined adjustments needed.
By cabedin
We had a BLAST at the waterpark this weekend (our daughters are still sleeping off all the energy they blew). With that said, I think it would have been good to know a few things before going there [More] for the first time as well as a few things management maybe should address: First, when I walked into the lobby to check in, I almost felt like I was in the scene of Mean Girls where all the girls were fighting in the hallways of the school and they were acting like jungle animals- it was absolute chaos. I actually asked the employee checking me in if it was always like this- to which she replied "yes, on the weekends". It kinda stunk an hour in as I needed a rubber band (after we were already in our room) and I had to wait for all the wristband buyers just to get a rubber band. I think there needs to be a separate check in for those just getting wristbands OR they have to come pick them up from "this hour to this hour" everyday if coming just to the waterpark for a birthday party (which is my next bullet point). I stood in line with (7-8?) people in front of me, just to check in. I don't think I've ever had that happen before. Also- their internet doesn't work. We used our data the entire time. Third- the ONLY entrance to this place is through the front...which is CRAZY! We were on the third floor and right by a side entrance and had to go to our car a few times as we forgot things and had to go all the way down and around to the front door just to go to our car (in the pouring rain). We ended up (after the 4th trip), to just prop the side door with a dang towel. All it takes is to install a car reader on the side. The last time I went out to my car there was actually an older couple coming in and I told them to use the side door and they thanked me saying "I don't know why they don't have a side door entrance. That is so inconvenient." Fourth- the elevator. Holy moly. With all the people running around. There's one elevator (at least that I knew of)....and it always had a line. So we just started walking up and down the 3 flights of stairs because we were tired of waiting. I guess it was a nice exercise if you want to be positive about it :). Fifth- what we didn't realize is that you can actually go to the waterpark without being a guest at the hotel (which is fine)....however, it would have been nice to have a cut off time for outside guests vs. those who paid to stay the night. Once 6-7 hit, it died down...but still...it would have been nice to have that amenity since we were guests at the hotel. Sixth- we have a 3.5 yr. old and 4 month old so obviously our 4 month old wasn't going to go down the water slide so I held her (in a zip up with pockets so I could hold me and my husbands cell phone, a bottle, a diaper, and some wipes) while my daughter went and had fun with my husband. That said, 80% of the chairs were empty the whole time I stood there, yet every single one had a towel on it "claiming it". So I had to stand, in that hot humid waterpark, with a zip up on, sweating like crazy carrying around everything. I actually had to leave within 15 minutes and go up to the room because I couldn't handle it. It would have been nice to be able to sit down and have her in my lap while I watched my kiddo play. I feel like there needs to be some rules around this- one chair per group....idk what the resolution is, but it was bad how many empty chairs were there and not being used. Again, these are just some recommendations and tid bits I had, we will absolutely be back! It was so much fun and it was just a great night all around :) I hope management sees this and makes the right adjustments to just make it a better experience for holiday inn customers. [Less]

Great Stay In Maple Grove
By ChicagoLarry
I continue to stay at this great hotel whenever I am in the Minneapolis area. I am never disappointed. Dani and Stephanie at the front desk are super friendly and are very helpful in taking care of [More] the guests. I would like to let management know that the mattress in my room was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on.This is coming from someone that spends 25 to 30 weeks a year on the road. (Sigh). With some packages, they even give you a $15.00 coupon to use for breakfast at the hotel. One reminder folks, the tip for the great ladies in the restaurant is NOT included with the coupon. Please take care of them. One issue I have had is the satellite reception on the TV's can be hit or miss sometimes in clear weather. This can be a pain, but not enough to drop this review from five stars. Other then than that, over all you can't go wrong by staying here. [Less]
