Featured New York City Hotels

New York City is the most popular destination in the world, and for good reason. With first-class entertainment options, world-famous landmarks, buzzing street activity and nightlife, it is an epicenter of culture, diversity and excitement. Your choices are seemingly endless when it comes to hotels, which means deciding which hotel to book can be a challenge, as options range from hostels to ultra-luxurious global chains. IHG® can help you find accommodations that cater to your wants and needs while you explore what makes NYC so unique.

Things to See

New York City is home to a multitude of world-renowned landmarks, so prioritizing your time during your visit is essential. For the ultimate sightseeing adventure, consider one of the hotels in Manhattan, home to the Empire State Building, Times Square, Wall Street and the 9/11 Memorial. Manhattan can easily fill your itinerary with must-dos, and a short boat ride across the harbor takes you to the Statue of Liberty. After a day of sightseeing, a stroll through Central Park is an excellent way to unwind.

Hotels in New York City

New York City hosts almost 55 million visitors each year and offers an incredible array of destinations and attractions to explore. Regardless of when you go, where you stay or what you do, there are plenty of hotels to fit your specific needs, and by booking through IHG, you are assured a great stay while you explore New York.

Where to Stay

When considering hotels in New York City, first choose your ideal borough, since each has its own character, advantages and charms. You may want to be closer to the multicultural cuisine of Queens or the tree-lined streets of Brooklyn. Midtown Manhattan is a prime location for visitors wanting to be within walking distance of Broadway plays or 5th Avenue shops, although they can be expensive. If you want to be in the middle of the action, look for a Times Square hotel location. Luckily, there are many reasonably priced hotels inside and outside of Manhattan, and getting around is easy.

How to Get to New York City

The New York City metropolitan area is served by three key airports: John F. Kennedy International Airport, La Guardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, which is only 15 miles from Manhattan. Those visiting the city by rail will enjoy the iconic Grand Central Terminal or Pennsylvania Station, the city's two main railway stations. Travelers with shorter stays may find New York City hotels near major transportation hubs more convenient and more budget-friendly.

The thought of getting around the city can be intimidating for first-time visitors, but traveling throughout the city and its five boroughs is surprisingly easy, thanks to the extensive Metro subway system. Along with its low cost and vast network of routes, the Metro is an efficient way to explore the city. In addition, you can easily hail a cab for a direct route to your destination.

Newbie hotel in Brooklyn
By Marttie
Excellent staff as well as lobby amenities. Nice central location for exploring all of Brooklyn -- from Redhook / ParkSlop to Greenpoint / Williamsburg -- and Manhatten as well; with nearby accesses [More] to trains, buses and water-taxis (all via your Metro-card). [Less]
Comfortable and I liked being in Brooklyn
By FrancisF
A welcoming hotel with staff who were genuinely friendly. Relaxed but efficient. A very comfortable bed and surprisingly quiet given the bustle in surrounding streets (we were on one of the lower [More] floors). A pretty good gym as well. If you don't know New York (it was my first visit) don't be put off by it being in Brooklyn, the hotel has 3 subway stations within a few hundred yards which are only a couple of stations from the south end of Manhatten, one of which also goes directly to JFK. (connecting with the JFK shuttle line at Howard Beach). Brooklyn shopping centre and the Barclays Centre indoor arena are within walking distance and the very lovely Prospect Park (a good place for a run)and the Brooklyn Promenade with its views across to Manhatten are both about a mile away. I liked the contrast coming "home" to Brooklyn which has a different, more down to earth, atmosphere to Manhatten and plenty of interest in itself right down to the seaside at the end of the subway line at Coney Island! Nice Value
By BobDaBuilder
The hotel room was clean and tidy. The bed was amazing and had me asleep in seconds. That NEVER happens, especially at a hotel. The decor was a little dated, but who cares. I'm there to sleep and [More] have fun at a wedding. My only issues I had with the room was that there was no refrigerator. And I couldn't close the drapes. They were just decoration and a lace type of curtain was all that covered the window. The room was awfully bright first thing in the morning. It wasn't horrible, but seriously guys; I may want to keep a six pack and a bottle of wine cold. Maybe even a midnight sandwich. No fridge is an epic fail, especially for over $130 for the night! This is a great choice! Staff are professional and friendly. Rooms are clean. Close to the interstate. It's a great alternative than staying in New York! [Less]

Great experience at this hotel! Best we've experienced in the Newark area. This will be our go to stop when we're in the area. [Less]
Decent stay
By Blair601
Arrived at 11:30 but Room was not ready as expected. We were going to see Aladdin for the matinee so it did. It bother us. Held our bags until room was ready at 2:30. Room was nice but know [More] refrigerator or microwave. Don't touch food or drink in room or you will be charged. We had a room on the tenth floor overlooking 44th. Not much to see. I did request highest floor possible as a platinum member. It I guess that wasn't good enough. Service was friendly. Park at Edison across the street for a discounted rate of $39 a day. Hotel is near everything that is Times Square. Would probably choose a holiday inn or express next time. [Less]
Great room and view. Wonderful experience
By David10
Staff and facilitie were outstanding with an excellent location in the Times Square area. We had a small problem with our reservation but it was quickly corrected. Attended show at the Schubert [More] which was one block from the hotel. [Less]
Great Location

Smack in the right area for walking round Midtown. Traffic noise a bit of an issue - but then again, this is New York! [Less]
