Featured New York City Hotels

New York City is the most popular destination in the world, and for good reason. With first-class entertainment options, world-famous landmarks, buzzing street activity and nightlife, it is an epicenter of culture, diversity and excitement. Your choices are seemingly endless when it comes to hotels, which means deciding which hotel to book can be a challenge, as options range from hostels to ultra-luxurious global chains. IHG® can help you find accommodations that cater to your wants and needs while you explore what makes NYC so unique.

Things to See

New York City is home to a multitude of world-renowned landmarks, so prioritizing your time during your visit is essential. For the ultimate sightseeing adventure, consider one of the hotels in Manhattan, home to the Empire State Building, Times Square, Wall Street and the 9/11 Memorial. Manhattan can easily fill your itinerary with must-dos, and a short boat ride across the harbor takes you to the Statue of Liberty. After a day of sightseeing, a stroll through Central Park is an excellent way to unwind.

Hotels in New York City

New York City hosts almost 55 million visitors each year and offers an incredible array of destinations and attractions to explore. Regardless of when you go, where you stay or what you do, there are plenty of hotels to fit your specific needs, and by booking through IHG, you are assured a great stay while you explore New York.

Where to Stay

When considering hotels in New York City, first choose your ideal borough, since each has its own character, advantages and charms. You may want to be closer to the multicultural cuisine of Queens or the tree-lined streets of Brooklyn. Midtown Manhattan is a prime location for visitors wanting to be within walking distance of Broadway plays or 5th Avenue shops, although they can be expensive. If you want to be in the middle of the action, look for a Times Square hotel location. Luckily, there are many reasonably priced hotels inside and outside of Manhattan, and getting around is easy.

How to Get to New York City

The New York City metropolitan area is served by three key airports: John F. Kennedy International Airport, La Guardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, which is only 15 miles from Manhattan. Those visiting the city by rail will enjoy the iconic Grand Central Terminal or Pennsylvania Station, the city's two main railway stations. Travelers with shorter stays may find New York City hotels near major transportation hubs more convenient and more budget-friendly.

The thought of getting around the city can be intimidating for first-time visitors, but traveling throughout the city and its five boroughs is surprisingly easy, thanks to the extensive Metro subway system. Along with its low cost and vast network of routes, the Metro is an efficient way to explore the city. In addition, you can easily hail a cab for a direct route to your destination.

Great new place, need to work out the kinks, and better the service and food in the restaurant, but overall not bad. [Less]
"Best Mistake I Have Ever Made"
By miserere
When I made the booking, I really thought I was booking Holiday Inn at Saddle Brook, which was located on Pehle Ave on the North side of Route 80, close to Garden State Parkway. On the date of [More] arrival, I realized that I made a mistake. However, it turned out to be a nice mistake. This hotel was a brand new hotel located in a cylindrical landmark building visible from Route 80. Everything is fresh and new. The staffs at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I arrived early and requested late checkout and all the requests were arranged promptly and smoothly. The room I got was on the 9th floor facing the highway. Maybe a little noisy for some but I am from NYC and I have been in noisier room than this before. The bathroom was a bit small but it's efficient. I like the shower stall. It had a regular shower plus an overhead rainstream shower head. It is a nice surprise for I only expected something like this from The Indigo Hotels (another IHG brand). The bed and pillow were very comfortable as well. I heard some good comments about the Sky Restaurant and Lounge located on the 12th floor. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to experience it first hand. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay. I highly recommend this property. "Get it while it's fresh!" :-) [Less]
Comfortable Stay
By taxi-jay
Although not the quietest location in the city, the room was clean, comfortable and affordable. [Less]
Great rooms.
Rooms are good, quiet and comfortable. The staff so-so. Also, if you're driving there, you need to reserve a parking spot ahead of time (very small parking lot). Something they do not tell you until [More] you get there and find there are no parking spots and a staff that doesn't really care. I was lucky to find street parking, but it could have been several blocks away. [Less]
Great proximity to Midtown on nearby Metro - Limited Parking
By PlatinumLegion
Picked the hotel for it's proximity to Midtown, without the expense of being in Manhattan, and was delighted to discover it was easy to get a taxi but also within about 200 feet of one of the metro [More] lines. Room was clean although it felt a little dated. Bathroom and shower were spotless. Staff seemed more functional than present to delight the customer - but I would stay here again. Only a handful of parking spots which are allocated on a first check-in basis. About a 5 min drive to their recommended parking garage which costs about the same as the onsite parking fee. [Less]
Comfortable flight stopover
By 4rosebud2
While eating our dinner at the in-hotel diner, the owner/manager came up and introduced himself. He then asked if everything was up to our satisfaction. This was a pleasant welcoming gesture. [Less]

By Normochka
