Featured Philadelphia Hotels

They call Philadelphia “The City of Brotherly Love,” and indeed there is plenty to love in this sizable city. It is the largest city in Pennsylvania and the fifth-largest in the U.S. With good information to plan your visit, Philly is a prime place for lots of unforgettable experiences.

Things to See

While sports are a good reason to visit Philly, the city offers plenty other fantastic things to do. Come hungry; Reading Terminal Market is one of the city's top dining attractions. There you can sample the best of Philly's cuisine, whether you are craving an irresistible sandwich or a undeniably decadent dessert.

American history buffs cherish Philadelphia’s rich heritage, which includes landmarks like Independence National Historical Park and the famous Liberty Bell. Stroll through Independence Hall and be sure to say you visited must-see Valley Forge National Historic Park. The Philadelphia Zoo’s 42 acres serve as home to more than 1,300 animals, and its award-winning exhibits will thrill your entire family. You’ll also want to make time to see Longwood Gardens’ impressive display of horticulture.

Science fanatics should not leave without exploring the Franklin Institute, which hosts a walk-through model of a heart, the Sports Challenge, a Changing Earth display and an IMAX theater.

Hotels in Philadelphia

Philadelphia hotels take in a range of guests; some are ideal for solo business travelers while others cater to families. The city isn't exactly a resort destination so you won't find an overabundance of luxury hotels in the city, however there are still numerous options for high tastes, such as the Crowne Plaza property, or more affordable accommodations at Holiday Inn or the cozy Candlewood Suites.

Where to Stay

Old City is a top choice for vacationers in Philadelphia. This is where you'll find the city's top historic attractions as well as numerous shopping and dining options. Plus, the area is easy to walk so you won't have to worry about finding parking. Nearby Society Hill is another solid option; it is quieter than Old City but still close to the city’s core.

How to Get to Philadelphia

Philadelphia International Airport serves the city and the surrounding Pennsylvania area. If your hotel does not provide a shuttle service from the airport, it's easy to hop on public transportation and get into the main part of the city.

We didn't get in to our hotel until the late evening but found it very nice and clean. The rooms were larger than most places and very comfortable. It was great to have a large make-up mirror in the [More] bathroom. The downstairs lobby was very attractive and the staff was very accommodating. [Less]
Nice stay

The staff at the front desk were very nice. Room was clean and we had a great view of the Philly skyline. There were a few issues with the room but I want to give them a chance to fix them before [More] complaining. Overall, very nice stay. [Less]
Nice hotel
By Micah
I have a previous review regarding "People make the difference." This review is no different. Ken and Koli did great (at the Embers restaurant) making sure all was well with my meals. Value for [More] money at the restaurant is also quite good compared to other restaurants in the area. My room was comfortable. I like the mattresses and the soft / firm pillows provided. Cleaning staff did a great job each day. The only issue with my stay was the AC / Heater unit did not operate well. The room did not get to temperature with the unit on heat (with the fan on). Because the fan was quite loud, I turned the fan off. The room actually warmed up with the unit and fan off, and was significantly quieter as well. Other rooms at this hotel have had quieter units. To be fair, because the room was comfortable without the unit on, I did not notify hotel management, so I did not give them the opportunity to correct the situation as I would have normally done. In other instances, where I have notified management of an issue, it has been promptly addressed, so there is no reason for me to think this issue would have been different had I let them know. Another nice feature is the concierge lounge on the 12th floor. I like it when I don't have time for breakfast at Embers or for a quick snack once I get in from the office. [Less]

Great location and very accommodating staff. The hotel room was comfortable, safe and the breakfast was adequate. My only real complaint was TV cable service and the inadequate channel selections. [Less]
