Featured Houston Hotels

As the fourth largest city in the U.S., Houston attracts nearly 15 million travelers from all over the world each year. The warm, sunny climate is great for spring and fall outdoor activities, intriguing museums, captivating performing arts, and a thriving culinary scene. This Texas destination caters to tourists of many interests, but whatever your tastes, IHG® has Houston hotels that will help you get the most out of your visit.

Things to See

Known as Space City for its longstanding support of America's astronautic adventures, Houston is home to several destinations essential for outer space lovers. The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center serves as the training ground of America's elite astronauts, while the Space Center Houston features a restored replica of the Explorer space shuttle and hands-on lessons on what life is like on a real space mission. Houston features many professional opera companies, as well as symphony, theater, and ballet organizations, and the city’s Museum District ranks among the top in America. This area features 20 museums, all within easy walking distance of each other, including the Children's Museum of Houston, the John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, or MFAH: the largest art museum in America's southwest. If you want to reconnect with nature, Houston has over 56,000 acres of park space -- more than any other city in America -- with bike paths and hiking trails to aid tourists in making the most of Houston's natural beauty.

Where to Stay

Houston's downtown area is a popular choice for travelers, as it has a wide variety of hotels within close proximity to restaurants, shopping malls, sporting venues, and cultural hotspots. The uptown Galleria area appeals to travelers seeking luxury hotels, gourmet dining and high-end shopping. The pedestrian-friendly Museum District is a great option for visitors who wish to see many of Houston’s cultural institutions during their stay, while the Hobby Airport/Third Ward neighborhood’s South Houston hotels are conveniently close to one of Houston's airports and some of its most unique restaurants.

How to Get to Houston

The Houston Airport System is made up of two airports: Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport. Houston also has an often-used Amtrak station. Conveniently, both the Sunset Limited train (running between New Orleans to Los Angeles) and the Texas Eagle (running between Chicago to San Antonio) stop here. Houston's METRORail and METRO buses make transportation easy, giving travelers more freedom to choose where they stay. Local taxis have a flat rate of $6 for downtown travel, which lowers the need to navigate the area in a rental car.

Decent business hotel
By sandy30751
The hotel is a bit away but is decent especially for those coming to the nearby businesses or needing access to the Energy corridor. Cheddars next door provide good food selection. WiFi in the room [More] was not working or very slow at times. The only other disappontment was minimal choice for the breakfast - if you pre-pay at the hotel, you only get a single dish - good but no choices. [Less]

First class hotel and wonderful staff
By Alan and Gill
This is a fantastic hotel with great staff. In particular Jeannie on reception is superb. Nothing is too much trouble for her. The rooms are beautiful and clean as is the whole of the hotel. [More] Everywhere is very very clean. The staff cannot do too much for you and there is obviously a sense of pride with the staff. They treat it as there home and you as there quests. If you want to stay at somewhere who really care for their quests this is the place. Superb [Less]

Great service!

Great experience! Loved the room and the amenities! Staff were so friendly and helpful! Breakfast selection was wonderful but some hot items were still frozen on the inside. Hot tub was also [More] lukewarm at best. I would stay there again for business or leisure. Great experience for the price! [Less]

A decent night's sleep
By MusicQ
I really enjoyed the staff at this location. They helped accommodate every need I had from the moment I waked into the door until check out. I had a few small issues like the A/C turning on and off [More] even when I disabled the auto feature, and I feel like the first floor is crammed a bit. You could hear everything that comes by your door and somewhat in other people's room as well. Other than those issues my stay was quite pleasant. The pillows are some of the best I've ever rested on and the shower felt great. I like the design of the rooms, but the carpet seemed outdated and slightly dirty, but this could have been just my room. Overall I had a nice experience, but I wish it was a little less per night for what I'm getting. I feel like I'm paying more for amenities than the actual quality of my room. [Less]
