A Great Present

My wife and reserved a room at the Holiday Inn San Antonio-Riverwalk as a birthday gift for my mother-in-law. It was during the annual city Fiesta and the night of the River Parade, which is one of [More] her favorite events. It's a popular parade so I booked the room 11 months in advance. At that time I told the hotel what I wanted to do and they saved her the perfect room, a balcony just overlooking the Riverwalk. She was very happy! My wife and I went with her to check-in, which was a breeze, and took her and her friend to the room, which looked clean and new. We had a happy hour drink at the bar, at a very reasonable price, and left her to enjoy the evening. The hotel restaurant found out she was there for her birthday and gave her and her friend a great discount on breakfast the next morning. I could have checked out online too and thought that convenient. We live in San Antonio so don't stay in hotels here a lot, but when we do want to treat ourselves to a night downtown it will be at this Holiday Inn. [Less]
