The Carlton is a true palace hotel, it has history, style, and class. It is the embodiment of old school luxury.
But it also has its quirks and idiosyncrasies.
You can find yourself in a wonderful
and airy room, with a comfortable bed - but the paint on the wall might be cracked, and the marble bathroom might have a strangely placed toilet and a shower that is weirdly long, yet tight, with a little square 'tub' at the far end.
This being said, it is a place you can fall in love with, just be willing to accept the hotel 'as is' for the time being - it will (and should) be renovated from the ground up at some point in the (near) future. In a way, the current Carlton hotel is a little bit like Cuba - you should see it while it is this way, because it won't be like this forever... [Less]
