Use of taxi was an issue.
Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Vilnius at the beginning of October. The trees were already developing their autumn colours which provided beautiful views from the hotel windows. The hotel is located
about 20 minutes walk from the city centre along a tree lined avenue. In dry weather this was a pleasant walk. In the rain the only option is to take a taxi (or get wet). If the hotel book the taxi it costs 4 to 5 euros to the centre, if you hail a taxi to return to the hotel the charge appears to be variable, up to 15 Euros!
The hotel is fine and the reception staff were very helpful with good advice about restaurants and transport around the city. [Less]
