Featured Amsterdam Hotels

We have thirteen Amsterdam family hotels in various spots around the Dutch capital, including one at Schiphol airport and a number in the centre of the city.

Although not always associated with family breaks, Amsterdam has hundreds of cultural, historical and family-oriented attractions to keep people of all ages entertained. A walk around this beautiful city in the West of the Netherlands presents plenty of architecture and some magnificent landmarks - from the Bridge of 15 Bridges to the Leiden Square and the Riekermolen (one of the most famous windmills in the world).

Travelling with children? The Artis Zoo to the east of the city centre is sure to keep them entertained. Add to that the 70+ museums in the city and there's plenty to do for a family-friendly visit. The Dutch National Museum, the Jewish Historical Museum and the Science Centre are amongst many with fascinating exhibits for those of all ages.

If you've made time for some shopping, you will not be disappointed. Amsterdam's exclusive P.C. Hooftstraat delivers designer labels en masse, while the cities many markets accommodate the bargain hunters and those seeking that something unique.

Sports fans are catered for here too. In addition to the Amsterdam Arena, which is home to the Ajax football team, the city also hosts two semi-professional ice hockey teams. And if you fancy indulging in a bit of activity yourself, the city is home to Vondelpark - a huge park area. Go for a family kick around, a little run or a brisk walk and enjoy the surroundings.

You can fly direct to Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport from London airports, Liverpool, Manchester and Edinburgh, amongst other UK cities. You can also reach Amsterdam by rail from many other major European cities.

If you're planning a trip to the Netherlands, let us make you and yours right at home in one of our many Amsterdam family hotels.

A stop over in Leiden
By GaryE1960
This is a weird hotel. It is a large warehouse with rooms around the edge, some accessed from the outside, other from the inside. The central space house facilities such as Table tennis and a kids [More] play area. This makes the internal rooms noisy if people are using the facilities. The restaurant had an Italian Buffet, 30 Euro per head but kids eat free. Great for a family, rubbish if you're 2 adults. We were woken unnecessarily by persistent housekeeping trying to enter the room. We chose to drive into Leiden.... big error, parking is impossible. (I competently drive around Europe all the time, but here I got myself stranded in the Bus Station with the help of Sat Nav!) My advice is use public transport to get into Leiden, not that I tried it. If you have kids, the facilities at the hotel look good, and I would consider staying here., but if you're adults on a touring holiday, avoid!! [Less]

You will never have a bad experience! One time we arrived and a room was not available. So they put us up in another luxurious hotel for one night ... for free. [Less]
Nice Staff
By BarbandBrux
Great looking, cozy room at first glance but then I started to notice all the missing "modern" amenities, the first of which being a 30-pin iPod dock-connector port: Apple swapped out the 30-pin for [More] the current Lightning connection back in 2012. Also, no USB ports anywhere in the room. Perhaps it was just a sign to take the time to unplug but even minor inconveniences are inexcusable when you're paying almost $800.00 a night. Yes, the view of the water was cool but one of the window locks was broken so we couldn't open all of them. The room should have been feather-free but it wasn't. The carpets [Less]

This hotel compares well with the chain brand-name, clean, well maintained, staff pleasant and very helpful. Local transport within walking distance, also a shuttle to airport with unlimited use as [More] long as there is room. In all good place, only caveat was the glass door to the toilet/shower, if with spouse or significant other not bad, if with family member, can be awkward. [Less]
HOliday Inn Express Schiphol - Hoofddorp
By Monique64
This was a last minute decision to stay at the Holiday Inn Express at Schiphol. Originally we had booked at another hotel, but we were able to cancel that. We called from Lisbon Airport direct to [More] Holiday Inn Express and spoke to Sylvia, she was very nice and professional and we had no problem getting a room for the right price. We definitely will stay there again, when we are in the Netherlands for a few days. Convenient, regular shuttle to Airport, where we can catch a train. [Less]
