My husband and I came here for a short holiday. We wanted to stay in an "authentic" neighbourhood rather than the business district or a Disneyland-style version of an ethnic or historical
neighbourhood. Joo Chiat neighbourhood has very strong roots, and it was fun to explore. Inspiration for the hotel's decor and design came from its surroundings.
The room is small, but that is to be expected in Singapore. However, there was no place for luggage. There were too few hooks to hang wet towels etc.
Breakfast was fantastic. The mini bar was nicely stocked.
The only issue I had was during check-in. I felt like we were being interrogated. "Why are you here? For leisure for the entire stay? Is that man (my husband) staying the entire time?" The booking was for 2 people so if my husband wanted to leave me during our stay why would it matter since I had paid for 2 guests! [Less]
