My first time in Middlesbrough arriving by train, with the hotel a 7 minute walk or short taxi ride away.
My daughter was also staying at the hotel and arrived by car, utilising the £5 car parking
offer which proved a superb saving/offer.
On arrival staff were very welcoming, allowed us to leave our bags until we could check in fully later in the day (we'd arrived mid morning).
On check-in I was provided with my welcoming letter and provided with details of hotel.
Later, when my daughter was due to arrive we requested her to have a room near us and, after checking, managed to move us to be near her and still managed to maintain our position near a lift.
The rooms are spacious, bright, modern and well maintained being clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable.
We were on the side facing the main square but had no problems with external noise and the view was lovely.
A great choice for breakfast which catered for all types, including hot food. I would recommend, though, that you get there earlier when staying over a weekend as the hotel is popular and generally quite full which means queueing, plus tables being at a premium in such cases.
Overall had absolutely no problems.
Additionally, there is direct access to the 3rd floor of the hotel via the car park. This allows access to the lift only and not onto any of the individual floors/rooms so is secure.
On a fun note, anyone who's a fan of The Shining will love the length of the corridors - see pic. [Less]
