Featured Newcastle Upon Tyne Hotels

Choose from our range of Newcastle family hotels located both in the heart of the city and its surrounding areas and get the most out of your break in this bustling city.

Newcastle is England's northernmost city and is the principal city of the North East. Located on the River Tyne, Newcastle developed as one of the powerhouses of the coal mining industry.

The city is served by a mainline train station and an international airport, making it easily accessible from all over the UK. Arriving into Newcastle, you are immediately struck by some of the region's most iconic views, whether it's the stunning view of the bridges over the Tyne as you approach on the train or Gateshead's Angel of the North greeting motorists northbound on the A1.

Newcastle has loads to offer in the way of the arts, shopping and nightlife. Pay a visit to the Hancock Museum - or if paintings are more your thing - the Laing Art Gallery.

Shop till you drop in Eldon Square and Northumberland Street and do not miss out on Fenwick's window if you're lucky enough to be here in the Christmas period.

Newcastle is famous for its nightlife: enjoy a bottle of the famous Newcastle Brown Ale on the Quayside or get glammed up and brave the Bigg Market. A night out "on the toon" is like nothing you will have experienced before!

Sportswise, there is really only one sport the Geordies are interested in: football. Get along to St. James's Park and mingle with Newcastle United's fanatical fans.

Whether you're coming for a city break with family or just to enjoy the city, choose one of our Newcastle family hotels and you will not be disappointed.

Good solid hotel - convenient location to city centre without being right in the thick of it. Nothing wrong with hotel at all, but at same time, its not 5 star. [Less]

By Saz95
We definitely enjoyed our nights stay at the crowne plaza. The room was gorgeous and clean, had the best night sleep in years. Was a great way to relax and enjoy a date night with my partner while [More] leaving the baby at home. Would definitely be back great value for money considering the standard of the whole hotel, room, bar, swimming pool and all. [Less]

Weekend Break
By Caz70
Great customer service, comfy bed, clean spacious room, quiet location. Good choice available at breakfast. Only 10 minutes from Newcastle City Centre easily accessible on public transport. Metro [More] centre a 10 minutes walk away and close to restaurants and pubs. [Less]
Shopping trip
Great location for the metro centre, there is a bus stop right outside the hotel or a short 3-4 min drive to the metro centre. The skiff Inn next door serves very good meals to a high standard. [More] There is also a TGI Friday and a KFC on the complex. The hotel keep groups on one side and couples on the other side of the hotel which is a good idea. No bacon at breakfast unlike some other hotels. We had trouble sleeping and found the pillows to firm. There is a fan in the room which was very good as we use a fan at home for noise to help us sleep. [Less]
Really nice hotel
By Violet Pickles
This Holiday Inn Express is in a great location with metro centre close by as well as great restaurants on its doorstep. Our room was clean and comfortable (great bathroom) and the hotel staff are [More] very friendly and helpful. Despite there being a few groups staying at the hotel we were not affected by any noise. Highly recommended this hotel. [Less]
