Great service and location
By Mjm101
The staff was great and the hotel rooms were very clean. The location can’t be beat and is central to everything. The breakfast is a nice bonus. [Less]
Excellent location
By Beppie
We had a great stay in a great location. We did have a few issues with our air conditioner not working properly, we were moved to a new room. The view was great! We had a nice view of the Empire [More] State Building from our room. Free breakfast was a definite plus as well. [Less]
I will stay here again
By dbri2017
When I was shopping for a room in the city I found many hotels in the same location and price range, but many had mixed reviews. I chose this one because the reviews were mostly good and breakfast [More] was included. The location was perfect - it was a short walk to the Walter Kerr Theater, Times square, Penn Station, and the High Line. And the room wasn't huge, but it was bigger than other rooms I've stayed in in NY. The breakfast was good with lots of variety, and the coffee was good. We went to breakfast during the busiest time around 9am, so the elevators were full of guests trying to get breakfast. It took us a while to find an elevator with room enough for us, but we did, and there was plenty of food and seating. All of the staff members we talked to were very polite and helpful. [Less]

Stay for football game
By Blair601
Good hotel when going to MetLife Stadium. Breakfast area could be bigger and wish it was served until 10:00 am weekdays and not 9:30. No problems otherwise. [Less]
Excellent stay
By Jenn
We were in NYC for one night to see our friend in a play. The play was in the lower East side which is why we stayed at this . We had not stayed at a Holiday Inn for a few years and we have been [More] missing out! This hotel was clean, affordable, room was updated and NICE, staff was so friendly and helpful. Twice I said to my husband, what is going in. Why is every person here so NICE? We could not believe the service we received. Breakfast was free and we were debating on eating at the hotel. That would have been a mistake. Restaurant was a retro diner that was cute and clean. The food was delicious. Could not believe it was free. Not a buffet but a sit down meal. The staff again were so friendly and worked hard! We usually stay at another well known hotel chain. Not anymore. We are proud to say we love Holiday Inn! Give them a try. [Less]
Almost Felt Like a New Yorker
By WorldTravel2
Hotel is not in a very touristy location. Staying here, you will see a lot of locals going about their daily routine. That being said, I had not felt unsafe at any time walking to nearby Chinatown or [More] Little Italy. Standard room for NYC. Room was clean, no refrigerator, but it did have a coffee maker. Neighborhood had many restaurants and bars within a short walking distance. The subway entrance is very near the hotel. Some negatives, the bathroom is small, which should be expected for NYC. Parking was a few blocks away across the very busy Delancey Street and cannot be accessed directly from the hotel. Also, the room has a very loud AC unit, which made it difficult to sleep. Positives—extremely friendly, courteous and very accommodating staff, which made up for the lack of sleep. The front desk, at check in, went out of their way to be sure we got a room as soon as possible when checking in early. Also, when walking to breakfast one morning, I mentioned to the front desk staff that we would be gone approximately an hour, and would appreciate our room being cleaned in our absence. I also mentioned a tv remove issue. Upon our return, we were happily surprised to find our room cleaned and the tv remote working to my satisfaction. I was very appreciative of the quick response by the staff. We had the opportunity to try the Retro bar. Stopping for a nightcap after a long day in the city, the bartender Rodelix made sure our time there was memorable. He surely is an asset to the Holiday Inn Express staff. [Less]
Mostly Good, one Con
By JohnL84
The room was very clean (small, but it was Manhattan). Was within walking distance of great food. Parking was on street ot a lot across the street for $31/day. Staff was helpful. CON: I needed to [More] work with a colleague on a presentation one morning. I asked to use the room labeled "meeting room". I was told no because it was full of house keeping storage items. Most hotels have some sort of area with a few tables to allow business travelers space to collaborate. I was unimpressed that I was spending $XXX/night and told I couldn't use one of their facilities due to the staff filling it with storage. [Less]
