I must admit that at first I was skeptical of the whole "Open Lobby" concept that Holiday Inn have introduced in hotel openings int e last couple of years, but this was the first time I tried it out
and I have to admit that it works really well, it opens up the whole ground floor nicely and creates a nice relaxed feel!
Staff here were excellent. I was given a warm welcome as an IHG Gold Rewards Club member, and as well as my welcome Amenity, I got a letter from the hotel manager and a good overview of how the hotel works and services offered. Holding luggage after check out was no problem and service was always friendly and with a smile, they couldn't do enough to help.
Rooms were excellent and stylish. Nice and spacious with good furniture comfortable bed and a nice area to work if you need to. I don't have an iphone but there was also an iphone dock there if you needed it which is a nice touch. Good lighting and bathroom was excellent also, large powerful shower with plenty of room.
I didn't originally book Breakfast but added it. I paid €13 but saw it advertised at €15, not sure why I got it cheaper, maybe as a rewards club member. Whilst it's clearly not cheap, I actually felt it was good value for what was there, a huge selection of hot and cold food continually stocked up and not just your everyday cheap items here either. They were all of good quality.
I'd certainly come back here in the future when I am next in Berlin, can consider me a full convert to the Open Lobby concept! [Less]
