Fantastic long-weekend at the Intercontinental O2.
As I do a lot of travel with my job, I save my hotel points from Holiday Inn (IHG), and when needing downtime, I redeem the points at the Intercontinental Hotels.
I'd previously stayed at the
Intercontinental - Park Lane, which is a beautiful hotel.
This time I opted to stay at the much newer Intercontinental - At the O2. WOW ... granted the hotel is much much newer, it is still a beautiful hotel. The rooms are much more contemporary than at Park Lane, but still very luxurious, with some very modern touches.
The hotel itself is a 5 minute walk from The O2 (North Grenwich) tube station, although I suspect most of their guests arrive by car. Be warned, although well lit, it might not be ideal for a lone woman to walk of an evening.
The road around the O2, towards the Intercontinental has a gravelled pavement, which isn't ideal for wheeled suitcases, so we ended up walking on the quiet road.
The views from the hotel of Canary Wharf are stunning, especially at night.
The hotel features a link to the O2, which is very useful of an evening and keeps you out of the rain!
Inside the hotel, there are many bars and restaurants. The 18th Bar is amazing, with fantastic views of the cityscape.
The pool and spa has everything you would ever need, and is so very relaxing. Make sure you visit.
Every member of staff was warm, welcoming, polite and engaging.
Would I return ... yes please!! [Less]
