Featured Cardiff Hotels

Choose one of our Holiday Inn® Cardiff hotels to discover the culture-packed, food-loving Welsh capital. Stroll along the banks of the River Taff past the historic treasures at Cardiff Castle to the modern face of the city, Cardiff Bay.

It's just a short hop to the city center from your Cardiff hotel. From riverside Bute Park, you'll get the best views of neo-Gothic Cardiff Castle and its Norman keep. Two thousand years of history are layered beneath the castle's whimsical 19th-century apartments. Cardiff's major museums are free, including the cavernous National Museum Cardiff, its walls hung with French Impressionist paintings. Our hotels in Cardiff are close to the dynamic waterfront development of Cardiff Bay, where modern icons like the National Assembly for Wales (Senedd) catch the eye. Take the kids to the hands-on science center Techniquest. When the sun shines, swap the city for seaside fun and cotton candy at nearby Barry.

Our Cardiff hotels are close to Cardiff Bay. Here you can enjoy a good-value pub meal with a pint of locally brewed Brains bitter, or fresh seafood at an alfresco restaurant. Wander over to the redbrick Old Brewery Quarter for upbeat bars and world flavors, or Roath neighborhood for a late-night snack. Cardiff's cultural scene revolves around opera, ballet and musicals performed in the iconic Millennium Center-free concerts are staged at 1pm most days. Rugby is another Welsh passion, best experienced at gigantic Millennium Stadium on match days. Fresh cockles, creamy fudge, and hand-carved Welsh love spoons are on sale in Cardiff's Victorian arcades and indoor Central Market.

Book a room in our Cardiff hotels in summer for free outdoor concerts at the Cardiff Festival and orchestral highs at the Welsh Proms. Bute Park is ablaze with flowers in spring and fireworks in November.

Good value

Whilst the location is a few miles outside barry, it is an economical place to stay when visiting relatives in Barry. [Less]

Use hotel on a regular basis to drop husband to airport. Beds are uncomfortable very wobbly. Heating wasn't working and the air conditioning never works. [Less]

Regular visitor to this hotel

I like this hotel, its in a good location, the staff and friendly and warm and I have a good laugh with them. The food is pretty good, try the Homemade Pie! They have a couple of Guest Ales at the [More] Bar as well which is nice. I had a problem this time with the room (Exec). The room was furnished with a glass fronted fridge. When you tiurned the lights off for sleep the Fridge illuminated the whole room! I do wish when Managers based outside the Hotel make these decisions, they do come and stay in the room for the night before the sell it to the customer. The staff at the Hotel were fantastic and we had a really good laugh. The Maintenance man wwas on his way up to the room as I was checking out. I guess I could have complained eralier (in the night) but then you wake up half the rooms along the corridor, with opening and closing doors etc, etc (I've been there) and its often better to be less selfish to others trying to sleep than getting everything your way. Usual high standards in some, but not all, respects
By AlecH
This hotel is our favourite place to stay in Cardiff, and we have spent time there before, in addition to using the Cardiff Bay Express by Holiday Inn and some non IHG hotels. We prefer the "full [More] service" aspect of this hotel, although that is not to say that the Express option is in any way unacceptable. On this occasion however the room (461) fell a little short of normal standards, but as were only staying one night, and the hotel was fairly full, we did not think it worthwhile to try and change rooms. In short, the bed was probably past its "sell by" date and did not provide the usual opportunity for a good night's sleep, the WC flush needed attention and the bathroom/ensuite should have had an extractor. The car park charges stated on the website did not make clear that VAT would be added. £12 per day is reasonable bearing in mind that the hotel is ideally placed near the city centre, but £14.40 actually charged and inclusive of VAT is a little OTT. I did politely point out these matters on check out, and am confident that they will receive attention. AS a member of the Rewards Club, I was also assured that certain preferences would be recorded and applied to any future stay, and again, I have every confidence that this will happen. All other aspects of our stay were up to the usual high standard, and those aspects include the excellent treatment by staff, and of course the other fairly vital ingredient, the catering both at Breakfast, and, should you choose to eat in the hotel, for an evening meal n the main restaurant.. There is nothing above that would put us off returning to this hotel as in general standards are maintained, but this time maybe we were a little unlucky. [Less]
