Room was lovely- unique style, really clean. Whole hotel was decorated with style and had a lovely feel. Great location too.
A few niggles though. This is a hotel with a premium cost attached and
as such, I expect maid service. Whilst my towels were replaced overnight, that was all. Probably a covid thing, but getting in after a long day to an unmade bed, no fresh shower gel, shampoo etc was disappointing. If someone is touching my towels why can’t they touch my bed too?! Felt a bit short-changed, particularly as I wasn’t told.
Also at breakfast, being vegetarian, I saw only one option, which wasn’t a cooked breakfast. On the second morning, I couldn’t face avocado again so I asked if they could do me some kind of veggie cooked breakfast - which was no problem. Veggie sausages and veggie bacon! Get it on the menu if you can offer it, we shouldn’t be forced to ask if it’s possible in this day and age!
Most staff were great, one receptionist on arrival was a bit unfriendly and the guy running the breakfast team was a bit snotty too, he gave a real ticking off to one of the lovely waitresses for something she’d done wrong (no idea what) which guests should not have to see - I felt really sorry for her as she was far better at her job than he was.
Also we parked at the car park that they have on their website only to be told that they have no association with that car park - after a 3 hour drive I wasn’t going to change but again, this recurring theme of poor communication arose.
Overall, this place could be great with a few tweaks, but I came away feeling a little bit short-changed. [Less]
