Choose one of our Holiday Inn® Chester hotels and within minutes you'll be walking along the immaculately preserved ancient city walls and taking in the beauty of medieval Chester.
Our hotels in Chester, England, are just moments from the famous Chester Rows, covered walkways that date from the 13th and 14th centuries and make Chester's charming city center as historic as it is eye-catching. The impressive black-and-white wood-clad facades in the center of the city give way to wider boulevards as you travel toward the River Dee and the imposing Chester Castle, near the historic Chester Racecourse. It's free to tour Chester Castle, in constant use for some 2,000 years. Discover a little about Chester's past as an important Roman settlement or admire the collection of Victorian paintings in the Grosvenor Museum. Then relax in nearby Grosvenor Park, where wooded walkways lead you to a secluded "magic" well.
Nearly all the city's restaurants, bars and traditional pubs are located within the city walls and close to our Chester hotels. Take a trip to the riverside and sip on a local ale in a pub beer garden. Or sample award-winning fare in one of the on-course restaurants on the Chester Racecourse, where you can place bets on a horse race or two while you dine. Our Chester hotels are also just a short drive from the hills of North Wales and the Peak District.
Book our Chester hotels and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of ancient Chester any time of year. Visit in the summer for the Chester Summer Music Festival. Bring the kids in October for the Shell Chester Literature Festival, which celebrates the written word and offers a popular children's mini-festival, GobbleDEEbook.
Generally a very good hotel with excellent staff.
Restaurant very poor for vegetarians and our experience of the food was also poor.[Less]

Only criticism looked like a[More] little down on staff in reception and in the restaurant at breakfast. Otherwise a faultless very enjoyable stay. Will be back[Less]

A smart hotel, and located near the Dockside, and all things to do and see.
Although this is a ''boutique'' hotel, it is rather ''dark'' when entering the reception area.
Otherwise, we can't fault[More] it.[Less]

I would to thank the staff of the hotel for the card and bottle of wine for my 70th birthday weekend and bringing the big box up to my room with my great great breakfast. The box had 6 big balloons,[More] a small cake and a packet of haribos inside which had been sent to the hotel by my daughter. Thanks again to the management and all the staff for looking after myself and June for the special weekend we both had. We will be seeing you all again soon. Colin & June D[Less]
