Choose one of our Holiday Inn® Chester hotels and within minutes you'll be walking along the immaculately preserved ancient city walls and taking in the beauty of medieval Chester.
Our hotels in Chester, England, are just moments from the famous Chester Rows, covered walkways that date from the 13th and 14th centuries and make Chester's charming city center as historic as it is eye-catching. The impressive black-and-white wood-clad facades in the center of the city give way to wider boulevards as you travel toward the River Dee and the imposing Chester Castle, near the historic Chester Racecourse. It's free to tour Chester Castle, in constant use for some 2,000 years. Discover a little about Chester's past as an important Roman settlement or admire the collection of Victorian paintings in the Grosvenor Museum. Then relax in nearby Grosvenor Park, where wooded walkways lead you to a secluded "magic" well.
Nearly all the city's restaurants, bars and traditional pubs are located within the city walls and close to our Chester hotels. Take a trip to the riverside and sip on a local ale in a pub beer garden. Or sample award-winning fare in one of the on-course restaurants on the Chester Racecourse, where you can place bets on a horse race or two while you dine. Our Chester hotels are also just a short drive from the hills of North Wales and the Peak District.
Book our Chester hotels and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of ancient Chester any time of year. Visit in the summer for the Chester Summer Music Festival. Bring the kids in October for the Shell Chester Literature Festival, which celebrates the written word and offers a popular children's mini-festival, GobbleDEEbook.
We had a huge family room with 2 large double beds. Very fluffy pillows and douvet. We even had a balcony! The bathroom was also very large and new, with a huge shower. The room and bathroom were[More] up to the usual high standard of cleanliness you expect from Holiday Inn Express.
There was a gentleman member of staff who seemed to fulfil a variety of functions such as maintenance man, breakfast staff and being on the reception desk, and he was very professional, helpful and polite. A real asset to Holiday Inn Express Crewe.
This hotel is less then 10 minutes walk from Crewe station, so very convenient. All in all an excellent place to stay.[Less]
convenient location for travellers
Great place to stay just off the motorway when I was heading north and needed to break my journey. Very convenient, opposite a petrol station and tesco express.
Parking provided and although the[More] hotel is an older building the room was roomy with a beautiful big walk in shower and warm bathroom and very well ventilated.
Good lighting and a great desk and work space too. Office chair and comfy chair in the room.
My only grimble is that I am sure this is the second time you asked me for my review and I have already completed one.[Less]
Friendly helpful staff
Really enjoyed the stay and recommendations from the staff when we were finding our way to various restaurants or the post office or laundry. They placed calls for us when our phones were unable to[More] make local calls and were always responsive and friendly to our many questions about the area.[Less]
Quiet hotel in perfect location
By Jackie B27
Stayed here with my Sister for the first time; from 1st-2nd August 2022.
Liverpool is our favourite place to visit and we love the Albert Dock area.
The hotel was nice and quiet, despite there[More] being plenty of guests. The room had a perfect view of the dock and Mersey. Very clean and beds lovely and comfortable.
The only down side for us was that there is no air con in any of the rooms. Friendly reception staff did explain however that this is due to the listing of the building. The window did open slightly so it wasn’t too bad but it would be great if a fan was supplied in the rooms.
Breakfast was basic but so well organised and the food was lovely. I am vegetarian and had pre ordered sausages, which were ready as soon as we arrived. Hash browns, continental rolls and sliced cheese would be great additions, just a suggestion as the veggie hot options are otherwise a little limited.
We have stayed in various hotels but this will now be our go to hotel when re visiting Liverpool.
Thank you! Great value![Less]

Had a fantastic stay, lovely rooms and comfortable beds, and great views. Breakfast was excellent, allure staff were extremely friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. From arrival to departure the team at Warrington could not have been better trained or more helpful.

We can bring our dog to the hotel and he can accompany us at meal times. Staff made a fuss of him and brought him a sausage to eat whilst we had our meal.
The room was spacious,clean and[More] comfortable.[Less]
