Featured Chester Hotels

Choose one of our Holiday Inn® Chester hotels and within minutes you'll be walking along the immaculately preserved ancient city walls and taking in the beauty of medieval Chester.

Our hotels in Chester, England, are just moments from the famous Chester Rows, covered walkways that date from the 13th and 14th centuries and make Chester's charming city center as historic as it is eye-catching. The impressive black-and-white wood-clad facades in the center of the city give way to wider boulevards as you travel toward the River Dee and the imposing Chester Castle, near the historic Chester Racecourse. It's free to tour Chester Castle, in constant use for some 2,000 years. Discover a little about Chester's past as an important Roman settlement or admire the collection of Victorian paintings in the Grosvenor Museum. Then relax in nearby Grosvenor Park, where wooded walkways lead you to a secluded "magic" well.

Nearly all the city's restaurants, bars and traditional pubs are located within the city walls and close to our Chester hotels. Take a trip to the riverside and sip on a local ale in a pub beer garden. Or sample award-winning fare in one of the on-course restaurants on the Chester Racecourse, where you can place bets on a horse race or two while you dine. Our Chester hotels are also just a short drive from the hills of North Wales and the Peak District.

Book our Chester hotels and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of ancient Chester any time of year. Visit in the summer for the Chester Summer Music Festival. Bring the kids in October for the Shell Chester Literature Festival, which celebrates the written word and offers a popular children's mini-festival, GobbleDEEbook.

Good location, friendly staff
By cpfromyyc
I fully enjoyed my stay here. The location was great and Liverpool is extremely walkable (definitely take advantage of the free Walker Gallery just down the street - it's amazing!). The staff were [More] friendly and very helpful. I always have good experiences at Holiday Inns and this was no exception. [Less]
2 NIGHT STAY
By Simbow
Great location in central Liverpool. Staff all very helpful. Car parking in large car park adjacent to hotel. Mattresses a bit soft for us but thats just our preference. We will be back as there's so [More] much to do in Liverpool. Didn't use any dining so can't comment on it. Large twin double bed room. Hotel is on a major road junction outside Lime Street station so you may want to consider ear plugs as Liverpool is a NOISY City, well into the night! [Less]
Great location

Booked one night at this Holiday Inn. Having arrived by train it was great to be able to cross the road and be there. Good position for theatres, restaurants etc. Definitely stay here again. [Less]

Comfortable night after a long day
By loveluxury
Good, clean and fresh bedroom and bathroom, freshly decorated. Comfortable bed. Spacious. Good storage. Parking good, access good. Some outside space. Public areas a bit spartan. Dinner in restaurant [More] ok, not brilliant - steak supposed to be ribeye, but not sure, chips good. Puddings not good. Staff helpful. [Less]
Good service
By Brandon42
The staff was excellent and very apologetic when I complained about my room door being left open, this happened once but nothing was missing. everything else during my stay was very good, ease of [More] access, public areas, the bar, etc... very pleasant. [Less]
A great stay.....

This was my first stay at the Albert Docks, I have to say that I was very happy with the service I received and will definitely stay here again. As a wheelchair user its great to know my needs are [More] catered for. Thank you!! [Less]
Ideal Location for Accss to Central Liverpool
By Harry 58
Once inside great experience. Car Parking and Access are difficult, particularly if raining. However this is the price to be paid for enjoying the character and location. [Less]
Great location, fab building
The location in the heart of Albert Dock is perfect for a Liverpool city break, and the way the building has been converted to an hotel preserves much of the historic character. The hotel is very [More] well-maintained, the rooms are very clean and the staff attentive and friendly. The mattresses were too firm for my personal taste, but otherwise the room was most comfortable. The biggest disappointment was the buffet breakfast, with a very limited hot offering - scrambled egg, baked beans and rather uninspiring sausages - NO BACON! The conserves offered for the toast (fresh - diy) were also rather poor quality and limited in range. I know this is a budget hotel, but when everything else is so right, why spoil the ship for a ha'p'orth of tar... Overall, I can recommend the Holiday Inn Express at Albert Dock, and would return.
