Choose one of our Holiday Inn® Chester hotels and within minutes you'll be walking along the immaculately preserved ancient city walls and taking in the beauty of medieval Chester.
Our hotels in Chester, England, are just moments from the famous Chester Rows, covered walkways that date from the 13th and 14th centuries and make Chester's charming city center as historic as it is eye-catching. The impressive black-and-white wood-clad facades in the center of the city give way to wider boulevards as you travel toward the River Dee and the imposing Chester Castle, near the historic Chester Racecourse. It's free to tour Chester Castle, in constant use for some 2,000 years. Discover a little about Chester's past as an important Roman settlement or admire the collection of Victorian paintings in the Grosvenor Museum. Then relax in nearby Grosvenor Park, where wooded walkways lead you to a secluded "magic" well.
Nearly all the city's restaurants, bars and traditional pubs are located within the city walls and close to our Chester hotels. Take a trip to the riverside and sip on a local ale in a pub beer garden. Or sample award-winning fare in one of the on-course restaurants on the Chester Racecourse, where you can place bets on a horse race or two while you dine. Our Chester hotels are also just a short drive from the hills of North Wales and the Peak District.
Book our Chester hotels and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of ancient Chester any time of year. Visit in the summer for the Chester Summer Music Festival. Bring the kids in October for the Shell Chester Literature Festival, which celebrates the written word and offers a popular children's mini-festival, GobbleDEEbook.
Excellent hotel, will definitely visit again next time I am staying in the area. Good food, good service, excellent staff[Less]
Excellent service, comfy bed and amazing food
Fantastic stay for the wedding held at the hotel, staff were proffesional, very friendly, food was very nice, hot and tasty, also on time. Events staff were brilliant, very proffessional.
Room was[More] lovely, clean, tidy, ease of access.[Less]
excellent service throughout
From the start of my overnight stay here I was treated extremely courteously and although there was a wedding party in full swing there was no hurried atmosphere. Without prompting I was told that[More] I'd been placed at the back of the hotel where it would be very quiet - something in fact which would not have bothered me!! The room was very comfortable and warm. As I always sleep with a window open i found this very easy to do - Although I was not in need of an evening meal I was very impressed with the menu lying in the room with no extra charge for room service which I found remarkable. My 'full English' breakfast the next morning was outstanding as was the attention of the girls on duty - very prompt with coffee and toast in spite of a full restaurant. The whole experience was one of calm unhurried service - and I was told they had another wedding to cope with. A truly excellent experience and that's coming from a very fussy me![Less]
Comfortable room, great pillows
Enjoyed stay except for the unwanted 5AM alarm call each morning when the central heating pipes make a knocking noise - due to trapped air? Otherwise clean comfortable, lovely shower, quality food,[More] helpful staff. On going business stay, will hope different floor room will not have pipes noise, last 2 weeks on 3rd floor did.[Less]
Very polite and friendly staff and great service
The staff is very polite and friendly. The food is very tasty, WiFi access is free and works well.[Less]

Would definitely stay again
Ive stayed in many holiday inn hotels but never at a staybridge suite so wasn't sure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. Family visit (wife 8 year old daughter) to liverpool to visit[More] our other daughter at University of Liverpool we stayed here for 2 nights. Location is great at the Albert docks with views of the wheel, arena and docks. 10 mins walk to Liverpool 1 shopping and the universities. Rooms are much bigger than the usual hotel with a kitchenette, small lounge, desk space and separate bedroom. So plenty of space if you want to be in the room longer. Breakfast is equivalent to the usual holiday inn hot and cold options so plenty of choice. Parking is in an underground car park so safe and secure and about £12 per 24hr. No restaurant but with Albert docs on the doorstep, no need as many to choose from. Overall an excellent faultless stay would recommend for business or pleasure.[Less]
Stayed for a week in September
I stayed for a week in September. Is lovely central location good free wifi. Showers are powerful and toiltries nice. Do prefer room on high floor and with it facing onto the dock instead of just the[More] car park as first night i had room facing onto the car park but couldn't move as it was fully booked. But the next day Adam was helpful and kindly moved me to better room facing onto the dock. I have booked to go back in october for a other week so hopefully i can get same room or similar with it being high up and view and will ask to see if they have softer pillows as the pillows on the bed are firm and bit hard. I look forward to going back as i love Liverpool and people are always friendly. Also got a late check which was grateful for as my train isn't until night time. Would recommend.[Less]
