Good breakfast, front desk staff excellent but badly let down by shockingly slow service in bar/lounge area on three separate occasions. Wait staff take 10 mins or more to come to take orders
(despite bar/lounge being almost deserted); then takes as long for drinks to be brought.
Stood for 10 mins at bar counter to pay drinks bill as no waiter around and only one staff member on duty behind bar. Barman on this occasion had about seven people to serve, on his own, and we needed to leave with our guests.
Went to front desk to find a manger so we could pay and pointed out politely that it is a basic rule never to have only one person on duty behind a bar (and no wait staff). The manager said "Oh, he's OK", to which we replied that he probably was, despite working flat out as he had no help, but the hotel's customer certainly were not and that they were being inconvenienced and delayed.
This aspect of the hotels service has to be improved in very short order as it lets the entire hotel down severely. One problem with slow service could be a one-off but not on each occasion. [Less]
