I actually stayed at this location from July 6, 2015 until October 1, 2016. I had a fantastic experience at this location and I was sad to leave.
At the time I worked for an IP firm hq'd in
Alexandria, VA and the partners of the firm put the Carlsbad location up for sale in June of '15. I arrived on 7/6/2015 just up the street from the hotel. I had a nice walk (1.4 miles a day, 7 miles a week) and made the walk in heels lol which was a pleasure for me. The food markets in the area are pretty good and are a quick walk away. Although I might add Californian's think people are strange for walking to a grocery store even when the store is a couple of blocks away. In any case Azia Cafe has good sushi and Los Primos has decent food as well.
The washers and dryers at the hotel (during my stay) were quite nice and offerd a really nice gentle cycle. I really didn't attend the happy hour much (not a happy hour person even on the east coast) so I can't say much about it. But they do have a great salad bar!! I did use the fitness center on site but decided to join Tri-City Wellness which is a mile walk away. I only joined because I wanted more equipment choices, but if you have a short stay the gym at Staybridge is nice.
If you walk to the gym early in the morning you will see a skinny Coyote! Rabbits, snails, hummingbirds are wonderful company when walking.
It's relatively quiet at this location and that was something I really enjoyed and the 2 quite large flat screens in my suite didn't hurt.
I stayed in a king suite on the second floor:
full kitchen/brekkie bar (stainless appliances)
full separate bdrm and full bath with tub! loved the tub!!!
It made staying in a hotel quite nice to have the space to live in!!
I miss this property and the staff and I hope my travels give me the chance to stay there again.
Thank you staff and management!
