you know that feeling of apprehension you get when you're standing before the door at a new hotel...well, we were wonderfully pleased upon unlocking our room after a long drive. it was beautiful [More] and welcoming. the air was on "just right" it was elegant and tastefully decorated. the staff was always helpful and friendly, will always stay there for any future trips to the area. Great service again

Usually stay here about 2-3 times a year and always greeted by friendly staff. Only bad thing is getting into the parking lot since those orange barriers were place to not be able to drive across the [More] street. [Less]
Enjoyment at its best

From the moment we arrived with no reservations and a tired teenager, we were treated with kindness and happy desk clerks. The young lady at the desk was smiling, helpful, and kind. She made us [More] want to stay there. Everywhere was clean and our bed was super comfortable. We enjoyed everything but I would have liked bacon instead of sausage(everything is better with bacon). Great Stay

My family and I had a wonderful stay at he Holiday Inn Express New Orleans East. If the opportunity to select a hotel in that area presents itself, I will stay there again. I will also refer it to [More] interested friends. [Less]
Great Service but poor wifi.

Great Service but poor wifi during my stay. I heard that the area wasn't a good one in NO but I felt it was okay. [Less]
Great Location. Pretty good amenities.
Got an excellent price booking early on a "standard" hotel room, which was explained as first-come-first-serve two queen or single king bed rooms based on check in time. Although the agent who helped [More] book the room said our group of three would likely get stuck with a single bed room (rollaway bed available at additional cost), to our surprise we got a very spacious two queen room with a window looking right out onto Canal St. This hotel's location is perfect, right at the intersection of Bourbon and Canal--exactly where you want to be, and still with easy access. Overall room was very nice, but we think a lamp was missing on the desk between the beds (most hotels have this) and the provided shampoo / conditioner / body wash was in lackluster pumps mounted in the shower that were difficult to use (I'm sure it saves them money). Parking (valet) is super expensive at $42 a day. Maybe this is worth it to some depending on the situation, but we saved money by going down a few blocks and parking in a paid lot ourselves. Getting into the hotel, we could tell they were still in the process of remodeling, with the strong smells of wet paint and a couple of areas under construction. When we got to our room, there was a pile of dirty dishes outside the door that stayed there throughout the night. We also had to try three different floors to find a working ice maker, which was the deciding factor for me going to four stars instead of five. I'm sure these issues will get worked out over time, but this is the type of thing that separates a good hotel from a consistently great one. Pros: -Killer location -Great price Cons: -Messy areas -Ice maker not working -Some missing standard in-room items -Valet parking extremely expensive [Less]
