Featured Portland Hotels

Enjoy a hearty Down East welcome in our Holiday Inn® hotels in Portland, Maine. Explore this lively seaside city, and in no time you'll be strolling the cobblestone streets of Old Port or savoring fresh lobster right off the boat.

Portland's working waterfront hums with the industry of freight ships and fishing boats chugging in and out of Casco Bay. Feel the briny sea air from the top of the Portland Observatory, the last maritime signal station in the country and within easy access of our Portland hotels. Gaze out at rolling whitecaps on a tour around the Portland Head Light, an Edward Hopper painting come to life. The sea was a favorite subject of painter Winslow Homer, whose work hangs in the Portland Museum of Art, in the downtown Arts District and close to our hotels in Portland. Next door is the Children's Museum of Maine, where children can role-play on the streets of a kid-scale town.

The Arts District downtown is a one-stop dining, shopping and nightlife hub and convenient to our hotels in Portland. The Old Port, the city's 19th-century heart, is another dining and shopping neighborhood, where you can stroll pedestrian-friendly portside streets. International fare is everywhere, as are menus emphasizing local, seasonal foods. But turn any corner and you'll come across some kind of seafood joint-from fish shack to fancy restaurant-serving fresh, meaty Maine lobster, sweet Maine shrimp and creamy New England chowder. Portland is a big microbrew town, so dive in and savor the locally made beer.

Book a stay at our Holiday Inn hotels in Portland, where the legendary lobstermen still ply the waters. Be a lobsterman for the day on a Lucky Catch lobster cruise, where you can haul in lobster traps or just sit back and admire the scenery.

We enjoyed all. From arrival to departure. Room great, great view! Clean and with expected amenities. Staff gracious, polite and professional. We decided to visit all New England states and [More] stayed at several hotels. We stayed at Holiday Inns in Portland, ME and New London, CT. Both properties were the best! It renewed my confidence in Holiday Inns! Great legacy hotel, keeping up with the challenges of competition. [Less]

Home away from home
By Mainetraveller
We visit this area often and always stay at this hotel. We are often greeted by many of the same hotel staff we have met before and are made very much to feel at home our rooms are always clean and [More] comfortable. We once had a problem with noisy upstairs neighbors, and after making a complaint at the front fest the problem was resolved within minutes and the next day we were offered a credit for our inconvenience. Over all a very comfortable stop at a reasonable price [Less]

Problems we experienced was nothing major, despite that the bed was most comfortable, the noise from 295 was a bit annoying and did hamper my sleep slightly. Next the breakfast though [More] complimentary, it had a good variety but not too much for the taste buds. [Less]
Great service

After working for 24 hours and getting off at 7am, the desk let me check in and get to my room and get some sleep, instead of making me wait until the afternoon. I really appreciated this. [Less]
