Featured Columbia Hotels

Enjoy laidback Southern hospitality at our welcoming hotels in Columbia, the sunny South Carolina capital cradled in the state's heartland. You're just a pit stop away from savory Southern barbecue, the award-winning Riverbanks Zoo and the art treasures of the Columbia Museum of Art.

Our Columbia hotels are a short drive from Riverbanks Zoo, home to lanky giraffes and 900-pound Galapagos turtles. Bring your swimsuit for a dip in the cool waters of the Saluda River or head downtown for a stroll on the grounds of the antebellum South Carolina Statehouse. Its monumental granite-and-marble façade withstood the barrage of cannonballs fired during General Sherman's devastating Civil War siege on Columbia. Just south of the Statehouse is the sprawling, leafy campus of the University of South Carolina. Our hotels in Columbia are also close to the Columbia Museum of Art, a jewel box of a collection that includes works by Monet, Botticelli, and Boucher.

It's a short drive from our Columbia hotels to a beehive of international restaurants and shops in the lively Five Points neighborhood. Equally accessible is the sizzling Vista district, where vintage flourmill warehouses have been smartly repositioned as cosmopolitan restaurants, bars and galleries. Wherever you are in Columbia, you're never far away from a platter of South Carolina barbecue slathered in smoky mustard sauce or served on a bun topped with tangy coleslaw. Sample toe-tapping bluegrass or sultry jazz in Columbia's live-entertainment clubs clustered around the college campus.

Book a room in our Holiday Inn® Columbia hotels in spring for the flowering of pear and cherry trees or in fall for local oyster roasts over roaring outdoor fires - but the friendly Southern hospitality is on tap all year round.

A well maintained facility. Staff members with whom we came in contact were excellent, friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. My one complaint was concerning the breakfast [More] period. The room was very, very, busy and crowded. It was probably unavoidable, as there was a group of school students all trying to have breakfast and catch the bus that was waiting for them. It was a case of poor timing on our part. If we'd gone to breakfast a half hour later I think everything would have been fine. I must compliment the lady attendant at breakfast. She performed admirably during a very busy time. [Less]
