Featured Alexandria Hotels

Stay in our hotels in Alexandria, Virginia, just down the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. You'll be near colonial Old Town, where the nation's founding fathers once ate and prayed, and Mount Vernon-George Washington's beloved countryside home.

Guests of our hotels in Alexandria can easily explore Old Town on foot. Historic buildings with monumental Greek Revival columns share the cobble-stoned streets with simple Federal-style townhouses from the 1700s. The stately Carlyle House mansion was the scene of intense taxation negotiations between British officials and Colonial governors. George Washington and Robert E. Lee are among the long list of historic attendees of Christ Church-where you can sit in their family pews. Our Alexandria hotels are a short drive from George and Martha Washington's plantation home, built in Mount Vernon in 1799. The immaculately maintained house is furnished with everyday objects from the Washingtons' lives, including Martha's tea cups and Washington's writing desk. If modern-day governance is more your style, simply head out of Alexandria on the Metro and you'll be on the steps of the United States Capitol in a half-hour.

Flashy boutiques and antique stores fill the dozen blocks of turn-of-the-century storefronts on King Street, near our Alexandria hotels. Artists display works in glass and ceramics in the open studios in the Torpedo Factory Art Center, in a 1918 redbrick warehouse on the Potomac. King Street's restaurants draw patrons from metropolitan Washington, D.C., looking for colonial ambience and inventive American cuisine. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson celebrated at Gadsby's Tavern, where you can enjoy filet mignon and roast duck at dinner.

Book our Holiday Inn® hotels in Alexandria in February for Washington's birthday at Gadsby's Tavern, celebrated annually here since 1797, or in September, when Mount Vernon hosts 18th-century music and craft demonstrations in the Colonial Market and Fair.

Exceeded my expectations
By Shaunieinthecity
Ok so people stay at hotels for many different reasons. Coming here. I wanted a hotel in DC with a great balcony view; HOTELS in DC have a strict policy; ALL BALCONIES ARE CLOSED. Here is Key Bridge [More] to rescue. CONS: Décor is dated, bathroom small & needed maintenance(BUT CLEAN), no microwave in room. I did NOT eat the food at the hotel or go to the pool, so I can't comment on it. PROS: Beautiful on the outside, big parking garage, close to all the sights. My room (1318 King room) was AMAZING. Awesome view, big nice bed, a few long mirrors for selfies (that's important) and there is a fridge in the room & very spacious. The metro is a 4 mins walk away, the White House is 3 stops on the train. Basically everything you need to see here is a few mins a way by metro even shorter by cab. I recommend taking the metro, it has a UK feel to it. There is a Target up the street from the hotel so you can get a few things that you need. Staff is friendly, room service comes every morning with clean towels and stuff. I really didn't have a problem staying here. I surely will be back again and I definitely recommend it. This hotel is not cheap, but rather affordable and worth it. I've shared pics of my room and balcony view from morning and night. [Less]
Annual Conference
By Educator808
For over five years I have made this trip to attend a conference. The hotel has always been good, but this year the staff was even more attentive to my needs. [Less]
Great View
By Nichole2016
I like staying here due to the balconies and the wonderful views they provide also the free parking. The rooms need to be upgraded as they are a little dated. Other than that I would recommend this [More] hotel to others. [Less]

Great Pillows
By GLASS CASTTLE
The Hotel is Great , the room to and the pillows fantastic to bad the front desk is not customer service oriented , Example When ask for a luggage carrier wheeler none to be find and staff did [More] really care to help . Also the automatic door for handicap do not work and no one to help you . when told to staff just answer yes we know , no can I help you with that. very disappointing . an automated machine could do what they done at a cheaper cost. Almost forget when ask where the restaurant was ( at the bar ) we where send to a wild goose chase to arrive at the bathroom .we never find the restaurant so we when out for dinner. Great Hotel with non carrying staff. [Less]
Breakfast
By sr139fox
I have stayed at this Hotel several times to visit my son. Every stay at this Hotel was above par. What really makes this Hotel is the staff. All were very friendly and many were smiling. [More] Only thing I would suggest. We hardly eat at the hotel, but we did have breakfast this time. The food was good and staff was friendly. I would recommend to provide a discount or offer a free breakfast for so many night stay. Then more guest would partake of your fine dinning area and the good good. [Less]

Had a wonderful time. No problems noted. Hotel does show a little age but renovated to bring up to more modern standards. Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. Cooked to order and fairly priced. Will [More] stay again when I go back to DC for another vacation. [Less]
