This was the first time visiting the Port Washington area. The hotel location was conveniently located 12 miles from the hockey rink we needed to get to. The hotel was also on the water and located
in the heart of the downtown area allowing us to walk to local restaurants for dining. We also lucked out and had the opportunity to board the Haunted Ship. The area offered well lit areas for walking near the lake and was extremely beautiful. My only disappointment--I did not bring my good camera to capture the beauty.
The hotel was old and seemed a bit dated...but that was ok for the price. The beds were extremely comfortable and the pillows were awesome. The bathroom is where the age really showed. The grout and tub was very stained. It was as clean as it could be....but still looked dingy. The water pressure was the best!
The other awesome part about our stay was that we were able to bring our dog. The downfall--we were told we could not leave him there while we were at our son's hockey games. We checked in a day early so we could have a spot for him to stay while at the games. The area around the hotel were great for walking our dog. The local businesses had water bowls near their doors...it seemed very dog friendly.
The only other negative....it was very noisy at night from street sounds. Our room was street side on second floor...so mere feet from on street parking to bars and restaurants. I am sure the water side would have been quieter. We did not hear noise from inside the hotel...so not really anything that they could change to fix that. [Less]
