Very good value, hotel tired in places but is well maintained and all areas clean.
Good facilities in the leisure area, although the steam room did have an unpleasant smell at first. (nothing to complain about)
During our four night stay we found all the staff from the bar, breakfast and shuttle bus drivers where happy, smiling and very helpful.
The service made up for any minor defects in decor etc.

Overall experience satisfactory. I need to call abroad frequently and the Telephone signals in the room is very bad. This is a major consideration for us
Parking can be limited and I did not feel safe to pack in the alternative car pack outside and then walk back to the hotel which is a fair bit of walking

We stayed at this hotel 12 months ago and it was friendly, clean and of the usual Holiday Inn high standard, you can imagine our dissapointment when we arrived to be issued with 2 rooms not connected when we had arranged this 6 months in advance( to be fair this was rectified quite quickly).
We were then informed that the main bar had been rented out for a wedding and we would need to use the restaurant. Not a big deal unless of course the air conditioning had failed in the restaurant and the room was in excess of 28 degrees!!
Well at least the main lobby door was left open so there was a draft of air, well when I say air what I really mean is a constant draft of cigarette smoke. This added a really special atmosphere to our dining experience!!
Over 90 minutes to have over cooked Luke warm food which was a similar temperature to the bottles of white wine, apparently the wine fridge was also broken! When we asked if there was any cold wine at all it was explained that all we needed to do was put ice in the glass and it would be fine........
We will not be returning next year.......

Really pleasant staff
Only negative is extremely slow check in and check out and zero support given to member of staff who was on duty. Both Saturday pm and Sunday am. Other staff and managers walked passed the desk, saw the queues and did nothing - Saturday and sunday

Spent the first night in the hotel bar with reletives from the Birmingham area. It was a great place to chat and have a few drinks with them. The staff were great and very helpful.

I have stayed in the Coventry Road Holiday Inn a couple of times and was pleased by the hospitality offered by the hotel. the rooms are delightful and a notch above than some of the holiday inns I have stayed in.

The room was comfortable, the air conditioning worked and was quiet. The planes taking off were not too invasive in the morning. Dinner in the bar was ok, The breakfast was plentiful and as expected for a full English.
The floor of the changing rooms for the leisure centre was muddy and the lockers didn't. The children having swimming lessons in the evening took up over half the pool, were screaming and it was unbelievably noisy.
The hotel was busy and the dishwasher was working flat out at breakfast to supply plates, bowls and milk jugs. The staff were working really hard to overcome this.
The staff were pleasant and helpful.
