Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wine prices Enjoyed my night at the hotel with the room being fine and the food in the restaurant very nice. My only issue is the price of wine. Over £9 for a large glass of wine is far too expensive for a fairly standard sort of wine, for a hotel in Bristol. Would expect to pay this sort of price in London. 03 November 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and great for kids Really happy with our stay. Great place to stay for kids - lovely playground, playroom and outside areas. Room spacious and clean. The only downside was the bed was far too firm for my liking so didn't have such a great sleep. 01 November 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room Access I was placed in a twin room number 112. I think I arranged a double bed but did not wish to make an issue of this. I arrived, left most of my gear, went to meet my colleagues and returned about two hours later. I was concerned to find that the doors between my room and room 111 were wide open!! I checked and my luggage seemed all OK. I went to the Reception, the girl was not very bothered, I asked why they were open, again not bothered!! She did say she would send someone to lock the doors and a young man arrived next door. obviously I could see him, and he struggled to close the door. So I set about closing the door on my side before he came round to lock it. It was not easy, the fit was very tight. I succeeded and he locked it. So no harm done - no explanation was forthcoming!! The whole matter was just shrugged off. WHY 30 October 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Peace and Tranquility. This is the first time we have stayed at Holiday Inn Filton despite visiting Bristol regularly to visit family. On arrival we were welcomed by very pleasant staff who quickly explained the facilities available. Our room on the third floor was very clean, comfortable, quiet, with all the complimentary items, overlooking landscaped gardens and lakes. The only criticism was that the bed was only a 4ft bed despite having preference recorded for King Size. Putting that aside we will stay again, and recommend to family and friends. 23 October 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great value We stayed for 1 night with our 2 1/2 year old son. Overall a good stay, with good facilities and the room was clean. It would have been an excellent stay if I'd slept better... our room was on same side as the function room with horrible karaoke going on until 1am. Then when that finished the minibar in our room appeared to intermittently have to recharge which, in the middle of the night sounded like a small plane taking off! Having said this both my partner and son slept through the whole thing so maybe I'm being sensitive but it did leave me feeling a little irritated and tired in the morning! 23 October 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely room and hotel, breakfast very expensive Lovely clean hotel room, great service from reception staff! Very shocked at the price of breakfast and being rushed out of the restaurant! 22 October 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad service and food I stay in the Bristol area regularly and at this hotel as the location suits. However, this hotel is going downhill quickly. My recent stay was very dissapointing. Food was basic, overpriced and not particularly tasty. Staffing levels were such that basic as going yo the bar took over 30 min. I,m not blaming the staff, just the lack of them. 20 October 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by business stay A comfortable stay, could do without the hotels air con units running in the court yard area but with the windows closed it was not an issue. 17 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A nice welcome back This was my 6th visit to Filton Holiday Inn. It was a very nice surprise to find a bottle of wine and a card welcoming us back. The hotel is a great base for discovering Bristol. My family love the hotel leisure centre, it's nice to be able to have a swim after a day out and about. My only niggle with our recent stay was with the guests at a wedding that was being held there. There were quite young children roaming around the corridors in the hotel and outside our room until quite late in the evening. Their parents were nowhere to be seen but obviously not the hotels fault just inconsiderate people. We will definitely not let it put us off staying again when next in the area. 16 October 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Firendly service & comfortable room Actually surprised how good the Holiday Inn was. I was at the hotel on business & not used Holiday Inn's for some time. Hotel was modern, clean & comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Plenty of parking. Overall, a very pleasant stop over. My only minor negative was the continental breakfast. I always prefer breakfast in my room. On this occassion the breakfast was delivered spot on my preferred time (most hotels are totally hit or miss on this!). However, toast was a little cold & the bowl for my cereal had been forgotten. Not major showstoppers but notable given the rest of the stay was first class. 16 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good mini break Stopped for one night on way home. Impressed that my priority membership was recognised with a room upgrade and extra points. Quiet room away from the main public areas made for a relaxing break 15 October 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly & helpful Reception Desk. Friendly staff in restaurant. Excellent choice at breakfast, quality cooke food & superb continental (cooked meats, cheeses & fresh fruit). Inge, waitress in the restaurant was very helpful & cheerful which attributed to a good start to the day. 15 October 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Restaurant food The quality of the restaurant food for the evening meal was poor and vastly over priced for what was on offer. One of our party had the misfortune to choose the pork escalope which was very tough and therefore difficult to eat. The breakfast offering was very good with good coffee in particular. 14 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good stay overall This was a nice hotel set in a lovely setting. the pool was enjoyable for us and our baby with warm water. Good staff all helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast which was well laid out and plentiful. 10 October 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service and experience i was booked in the Holiday Inn Filton and was due to arrive late. I phoned reception to let them know of late arrival. they responded by informing me the booking system has had problems and the hotel was full and they had booked me into the nearest Express by HI. Not acceptable. I was offered a refund due to the inconvenience but I was on a business trip so my company benefit for my inconvenience and not me. Express by HI offered free wifi thruogh out the hotel but even though you pay a lot more for HI you have to pay for wifi. The restaurant at HI Filton was also a poor experince, long wait times for food and very poor environment. I you can see I had a poor experience with my last booking and I have already booked 2 nights in Express By HI in Croydon and I am thinking of cancellig and booking else where. My company use IHG world wide due to the points awards but if this carries on we shall look for another group of hotels. NOT HAPPY! 08 October 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Filton Holiday Inn The staff are excellent always helpful. Would have been good to see local produce offered on the menu, dinner was very dry after being left under the heat lamps for too long, £16 for breakfast was too expensive. Very disappointing that there was no free Wi-Fi included. Very average for the price. 07 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by an evening in bristol upon arrival, staff were extremely friendly and willing to help. didn't eat at the hotel, but good menu choice and reasonable bar prices too. overall excellent experience and would certainly stay again at this hotel. 02 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel and Excellent service We stayed two days here on a visit to Bath and Bristol and it was a very lovely experience . The hotel may not look attractive from outside but inside is immaculate clean and staff was very helpful and polite. Standard room is bit small but very clean and you have everything there ( iron , toiletries , hair drier ) and plenty of space for you stuff including a mini bar . Our room was overlooking the fishing lake area and it was beautiful. Breakfast was superb and pool was a bonus and overall experience is good value for money. However bit far from the Bristol City centre and no nearby shops as it is near motorway but very quiet and peaceful area. 25 September 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poorest of the IHG group? I am a regular (2-3 times a week) user of IHG hotels around the country and this was the most disappointing I can remember. I was given a smelly, smokey room and had to relocate, neither the free wifi nor the expensive wifi worked because of a technical problem. The service was slow at breakfast and when I asked after my coffee the ?manager was unapologetic and supercilious. Absolutely the worst value hotel for years. I have never written a review like this before and hope I won't be doing so again. 25 September 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice clean hotel with good facilities A very nice hotel with good facilites. The staff were courteous and helpful and the room was clean and tidy. I was in an executive room with bathrobes and minibar but I wonder why the hotel provides bathrobes but no slippers, as this would provide more comfort (than bare feet) for very little extra cost. I have stayed in Holiday inn hotels in Thailand and China and they always provide robes and slippers! So why don't they in the UK? 23 September 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not impressed Got married on 13th September and as we have 3 small children we could only really get away for a couple of days so thought we would go to Bristol which is not to far away from our Home town Plymouth. On arrival everything seemed good the lobby looked clean and stylish and the bar etc looked good too. Got checked in very quick and got our room key. On arrival to the room it was very small. We didn't mind this as we wouldn't be spending much time there anyway and the bed was clean and comfy so that's the main thing. Could not believe you had to pay £5 an hour to use the Wifi when even places like McDonalds have free Wifi. We thought we would check out the swimming pool and gym and go for a swim. The gym was tiny, filthy and cramped and the changing rooms were the same. The swimming pool was very disappointing so shallow and with too much chlorine made a very disappointing time. And to top it all off the Sauna's were separate in each changing room so my wife and I couldn't relax in one together. We tried going out for dinner but as it was a Sat night everywhere we went to was too busy and had about an hour wait so decided to go back to the hotel and try the restraint there, this is when things started to get really bad. Myself ordered the gourmet Aberdeen angus burger with onion rings instead of chips and my wife ordered the sirloin steak. The meals took about 30 mins to arrive to the table which was terrible bearing in mind there was only another three tables eating. My wifes steak was tough and my burger looked Ok apart from it was with chips instead of onion rings as I ordered. I told the waitress who took the whole thing back to the kitchen and about 10 mins later brought it back out with onion rings. (By this time my wife had almost finished her steak#. I then took a bite out of the burger to realise there was no bacon or cheese in it as stated on the menu. Again I told the waitress who took the whole plate back to the kitchen to be sorted. Again another 10 - 15 mins pass before it was brought back out to me. Amazingly yes it had bacon and cheese in it this time but astonishingly it was the same burger and bun with a bite out of it. To say the least I was not impressed. I told the waitress again who took it back to the kitchen. Another 10 - 15 mins passed before it was brought to me. #My wife was long finished by this time). So our first meal, just the 2 of us as a married couple was a disaster, we didn't even get to eat together. As I have already said the beds were comfy so we had a good night sleep but at 8am in the morning comes one knock on the door followed by house keeping just walking in seeing us still in bed saying sorry be back later, but then an hour later at 9am doing the same again. Overall wasn't a very good get away/honeymoon at all. The only pro I could say is that upon returning to Plymouth I realised I had left my portable hard drive in the room and after ringing they immediately said they found it and would post it to me. 20 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by we spent a lovely week end My wife and i have not visited this hotel for some time as we moved away from Bristol, but returned for a family birthday. we found the hotel much improved and the staff were very helpful and polite. The room we had was on the third floor and had everything we required. We had a very restful night and awoke looking forward to breakfast which turned out to be a little disappointing as the cooked product was cold although eadible. This did not spoil our weekend it made it less enjoyable. 20 September 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Was looking forward to staying at this hotel but right from the start it was a disappointment from the 'cant really be bothered' checking in process to the fitness amenities to the overpriced drinks and food. Quite frankly was not too upset at leaving.ï 19 September 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room not properly serviced. After arriving two hours early, we were allowed to enter our Executive suite one hour earlier than our arranged check-in time. This seemed to be a god send after a long travel time. It wasn't until we decided to go to bed late that evening that we realised that the bottom bed sheet didn't look clean, was severely creased and had looked as if it had been slept on and not changed from the previous guest/s. Added to this poor oversight from the cleaning staff, it was to our amazement and dismay that we also found that our bathroom bin had not been emptied and contained a female's dirty briefs. Also thought that we were entitled through our IHG membership to receive free internet. After checking with the front desk, we found that this was not the case and we were told that a fee would be charged. Other than these irregularities, all the other aspects of the room and hotel were as expected for a Holiday Inn. 19 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, clean and efficient. First time in a Holiday Inn and most definitely stay again! 19 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by City visit The hotel and staff were excellent and ensured our visit to Bristol was very enjoyable. 19 September 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room Service The title "Room Service" is a bit of a misnomer as this hotel does not seem able to achieve anything that can be deemed "Room Service" having waited 1Hour and 15mins it was then too late to eat. give it a miss 17 September 2013
