Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not happy this time Terrible 2 nights sleep (well no sleep actually). The mattress in my room was lumpy and and the springs had gone. I reported the matter but all that happened was a thick under blanket was positioned on top of the matteress. Also the food was poor this time I odered New Yorker Chicken (hunter's Chicken), the cheese on the chicken was a cheap cheese slice, this is not acceptable at the price charged for the meal, this might be why the restaurant was totally empty of customers, maybe the people staying there know something I don't. On this occasion I did not get value for money and begrudge paying for the room, I was so tired when I checked out I did not have the energy to kick up a fuss. 16 February 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unacceptable customer service I paid for an overnight stay as an advance purchase, and upon check-in was told that I hadn't paid, and was unapologetically asked to pay again. I had to prove through a thorough defence in addition to showing booking confirmations and bank statements before being allowed to check-in, and during all this the receptionist moved on to serve other guests as they showed up before resolving the issue I had. After a very poor check-in experience, I couldn't get into my room, and there was no initiative to sort this out quickly. I was moved into a different room 20 minutes after first reporting the issue. Very unimpressed at the appalling customer experience and poor service experienced - if you enjoy having to defend yourself and want to be treated like a lowly subordinate rather than a valued guest, this is the hotel for you. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The staff made our break great! After a rocky start as the heating did not work in one of our rooms we had a great stay at the Holiday Inn. Rachel who looked after us all evening in the bar area was great. A true credit to your company. Rooms were great and nice to have the choice of a bath or shower. Breakfast the next morning was pleasant and again staff were really friendly. Will be back! 29 January 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A hotel in need of some TLC This stay was fortunately limited to one night. On arrival our welcome was average at best. My room had a strong smell of sewage/drains. I asked reception for a new room and was moved to a fresher smelling room. The restaurant was empty on our arrival and we had to find a staff member to seat us by calling into the bar. Dinner was interesting, I have never had an oil and BREAD selection that was toasted. The main course was ok and the staff member in the restaurant was attentive (although there was nothing else for her to worry about) The room heater was noisy and vibrated everytime it got to cut off temperature. Hot cooked Breakfast was cold. no other way to describe it. The only hot item was the toast that I cooked myself. A generally disappointing stay and really not in line with the IHG group experience that I have had on so many occasions. 19 January 2015
