I was looking for a hotel in the Liverpool area to revisit Birkenhead and surrounds for a bit of nostalgia, my shipping company used the docks there regularly, the Ellesmere Port property fit the bill. The hotel is located near the canal and is in a quiet area, local attractions nearby. Staff were welcoming and helpful, hotel was clean and room nice. Only had breakfast at the hotel which was fine but not spectacular. Enjoyable stay and may return some day.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beekeepers Lovely setting, and great hotel with lovely staff.
We attended a dinner/dance party here and had a brilliant time. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed overnight and had a lovely room, very comfortable and had a great breakfast the next morning. The hotel is very well presented and in a lovely setting. Especially sitting and having breakfast looking out onto the water and seeing the wildlife drift by.

Lovely location. Good Service. Plenty of room for us four in the room. Sofa Bed not very comfortable but double bed very nice. Would definitely stay again, but perhaps will choose the room with two double beds instead of one double bed and one double sofa bed, just for better comfort.

The Holiday Inn at Ellesmere Port is new, fresh looking, clean and tucked away in an attractive little corner of Victorian England that comes as quite a surprise when you see the hotel for the first time. We had a very good two night stay. We arrived at 11:00 pm on a Friday night and were met by a wedding party in full swing! This was followed by another wedding party on the Saturday night, however, the function room is well away from the bedrooms so disturbances were all but non-existent. We had been expecting revelry and noise until the early hours but there simply was none. The staff were very helpful. I had phoned ahead to say that we were travelling with two bikes. The management offered to lock these in an office for us and gave us easy access when we needed them. This gave us great peace of mind during our stay and meant that we did not have to keep the bikes in our room which would have been very inconvenient. Many thanks to the management for this.
