Gym: Temperature and humidity is not comfortable for workout. I guess the indoor temperature at around 24-25 degrees. It's far from the ideal 18-20 degrees Celsius, which is an international standard for fitness rooms. When you complain, the staff will hold his hand under the air outlet and respond "it's ok". Of course at the air outlet you have air coming out. You feel some wind. But it's not conditioned air. When they finally lower the temperature, it takes around 1 hour for the room to cool down. By that time you already finish your workout. Yesterday even the windows were open when outside temperature is 33 degrees! That's not acceptable. When complain, the staff would come, have a look and walk away. Some users felt that they need outdoor air inside the gym room and keep opening the windows. Staff doesn't care. Ridiculous.
Pool: The pool is nice if it's not packed. But sometimes it's really very full. It's because it's not exclusive for hotel guests only. They allow public access to the facilities. No further comment on this.
Sauna: It's supposed to run until 11 pm. But it happens that they turn it off before the closure time. Yesterday I am sitting inside and the heaters went off at 10:45 pm. Come on. If closure time is 11 pm, then you have to respect it. Turn off the heater at 11 pm, not at 10:45 pm.
Restaurants: The Chinese restaurant at 3rd floor is much better than the one at ground floor. The food is nice and hotel guests even get a discount for a la carte menu, the other one charges full price. There is also a fruit buffet. However you need to make sure what you order. I ordered chicken and received pork because the English translation on the menu was wrong. Anyway, the staff changed the dish. English communication doesn't work well. Not only in the restaurants but overall in the hotel. It's good to have an electronic translator ready.
Bar: Bar is nice but usually nobody sits there because it's hot. Probably again because of the energy saving policy of the hotel, the air-con is not running there. Just have a quick beer and leave to your air-conditioned room asap otherwise you are melting.
Concierge: That's the only thing at this hotel, which works perfect. Jerry is always very helpful and quick in calling a taxi for you. 5 star for the concierge.
Breakfast: It improved a bit. There is some good cheese now. Vegetables and fruits are well washed. And no more black coating stuff on the fried eggs.
Staff: Staff is always very nice and responsive but I feel the hotel is not managed well.
Overall it's below average when judged as a 4-star hotel. They can do better if they are willing to improve. Existing facilities are good but the way it's managed does not meet the standards.

I would rate the hotel as a good 3-star hotel but not 4-star. It's still better compared to local hotels in the area but not as good as it's international 4-star hotels.
The fitness room air is not properly conditioned. It's too hot and humid. Several times complained about it, not much improvement. The IFA (International Fitness Association) recommends the gym temperature as 18-20 degrees Celsius and humidity level between 40% and 60%. The gym in this hotel is at room temperature and far too humid. The fans are running at high speed but they are blowing humid air at room temperature. Just in front of the dumbbell rack is the worst. There is no air circulation.
Two days ago I went into the sauna, the heater is on but the temperature is limited to 57 at the control. No matter I increase the temperature setting, it's fixed to 57. Inside the thermometer measures 40 degrees. This is not sauna. Yesterday it was working normal again. Many things in this hotel are just not consistent.
Food quality dropped. My favorite dish for dinner was the red Thai curry chicken. Last two times I was disappointed and two days ago when I had the same meal, it was really really very bad. Almost no meat at all and the bowl was full with oil. Lots of oil, little curry, very little meat. For 67 RMB, this is overpriced. Waste of money. Never again. A la carte dinner quality is bad.
Breakfast also needs improvement. The amount of oatmeal is ridiculously less. I always have this problem. Today again. You take 2-3 spoons and it's finished. Oatmeal is so cheap. I don't understand why this hotel is so stingy with it. You have to walk around, find a staff who understands you and it needs manager's involvement to get more oatmeal. When it comes, it's already too late. Poor service.
Vegetables and fruits are not washed well. You can see this especially on the cherry tomatoes or sometimes (when they have) on the grapes.
So far the good things are: tobacco smell seems to be on the decline in the hotel, I hope this will remain like this. And the concierge is good, taxi calling service is efficient.
