Upon checking in I was over the moon when they decided to upgrade me to an Executive room, especially after a long haul flight...I was ecstatic ! It took me a while to find my way to the room, as I didn't know there was a special elevator for Exec rooms...the reception staff preferred to watch me get lost and giggle behind my back rather than offer a helping hand.
The room was great, spacious, comfortable...and I liked the small touches like having a chocolate bar near the kettle, it was great. Room service was quick, a little pricey compared to other HI hotels on that street.
I decided to take a shower in the morning just before my checkout, and realised there's no hot water ! I waited almost 20 minutes and there wasn't anything at all. I raised this with reception upon checking out, and the girl was mumbling and thanking me for raising this, and they will have a repair man look into it. I was thinking well good for the next guest, and what about me ?!!

The room on the outer corner of the third floor was cold and difficult to heat, even when the heating was kept on the whole day. The tiles of the bathroom floor were ice cold.
The hotel reception had recommended the bus shuttle from terminal 2 to the hotel. Moreover the bus driver only accepts sterling in cash or prepaid bus tickets, no credit cards! Very helpful for non-UK residents arriving at Heathrow without cash. Next time I will take a taxi.
The transfer by bus from terminal 2 to the hotel took one hour and 20 minutes including waiting time for the bus.
