Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Worst wi-fi ever A less-pricey alternative to other accommodations in this very central part of London; nice enough lobby and reasonably attentive staff, which unfortunately didn't make up for dated rooms and corridors; small, uncomfortable beds (barely a "double"); and some of the most unreliable, slowest wi-fi I've ever experienced. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Centrally Located but ..... I chose this hotel because it had a meeting room available for a business meeting. The hotel is close to Oxford Street but closer to Bond Street than Oxford Circus tube station. On check-in, we were asked to pay the full amount of our stay - unusual in better class hotels. The check-in took at least 10 minutes per person. When I wanted to make a conference call with colleagues who were staying in the hotel, we asked that the music in the lobby be turned down as it was quite intrusive. This was refused as we were told it is Holiday Inn corporate policy to have the music playing. The room was small and on the ground floor where it was possible to hear trains running under the hotel. I shall not be staying here on my next visit to London. May 4, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Below catagory standards I must say that in comparison to other hotels in the same price range in the same area I was disappointed about the holiday inn. The room that was assigned to me was in a straight line under 10 meters from a construction side. it took a lot of time to get me an alternative room. If the internal communication doesn't function properly, than make sure this is not visible to the customer. the maintenance of the room was bad, moisture damage in the bathroom, shower door partially broken, paint damage, grease stains on the wall, door of the minibar could not close anymore. It was also clear that certain area's of the room had not been cleaned properly recently. In total the holiday inn hotels I stayed in give the impression of to low maintenance investments and to little time for the cleaning staff to do a proper job. May 4, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect pre/post marathon stay I stayed at the Oxford Circus Hotel on the next before and after the London Marathon. From arriving to check out I loved the hotel. Location is fantastic, so convenient for many central London attractions and 2 main line tube stops 5 mins walk away. From my perspective it was also great to be able to walk home from The Mall after finishing the marathon while a lot of my friends and collegues and to jump on tubes and trains which is not good on tired legs. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Catastrophically Dire The whole stay was a complete catalogue of errors. First, when I checked into the room, I discovered that a used pair of men's underwear had been left on the windowsill. When I went to the fridge, I found a mouldy sandwich that had been left there. This was utterly appalling. I went to the front desk to complain and whilst they said that they were "embarrassed" at that point they did nothing about it. I eventually spoke to the Duty Manager and pointed out that with these obvious things left in the room, how could I be confident that it had been cleaned at all? His response was to ask me where I thought they had come from. What was the point in that question? How would I know and what was he implying? When I said that I didn't know, he then said it was possible that it had fallen from a higher level room and that "these things happen". Well, they may do but cleaning that room obviously didn't! I was sharing a room with my friend who was running the London Marathon, therefore it is was imperative that she should sleep well the night before. However, we turned on the air conditioning rather then leave the window open whilst we slept and this immediately started to leak and flood the carpet within minutes of it being switched on. This was now approximately 23:30 and I had to call the front desk to request to be moved. This should have happened at the point that I complained about dirty underwear having not be removed!! We were then put in another room which, when the lights were switched off, the LEDs continued to glow! I am a club member and expect a certain level of treatment. Had I not been, I still would have expected a clean room! I did not receive the option of changing rooms or a refund of any kind for the gross breach in standards. May 1, 2015
