My overriding experience for my stay at this particular hotel was dreadful from start to end. I booked online, and could not find anywhere to request ground floor due to some limiting disabilities on arrival I asked and was told very abruptly that she, the young lady on the desk was not going to change anything now, although was told some time after she would look into it. After reaching the second floor with baggage etc and subsequent asthma attack and by the time I got downstairs again I mentioned the attack, the young lady did then say she might try top swap rooms, a tad too late.
My experience in the dining room was not much better, after a considerable wait for my order to be taken, and then my meal being offered to another diner, the diner said he was used to this, as he had stayed at this hotel before! Then taking a third request to a third member of staff for my bill before actually getting the bill, with the service charge automatically added!
The room, the mattress was appalling,the bedroom door had such a gap under it, the hall/landing light illuminated the bedroom all night, the broken secondary glazing allowed main road noise into the room, many other items, towel rack hanging off the wall the bath safety rail felt loose, shower hose buckled in half due to being to short, noisy air conditioning system, I am sorry if this appears to be moaning, all of the individual issues could be accepted, but all together made the stay very unpleasant, I must add, the manager the following morning adjusted the room rate, which still ended up being almost double to that of the Hotel I stayed at the night before, couldn't fault that!

We were made to feel very welcome from reception on.
The hotel was comfortable, and surprisingly quiet considering its proximity to the motorway.

BEFORE STOPPING ON A SATURDAY NIGHT CHECK IF TERE ARE ANY WEDDINGS AND IF TWO DO NOT IF ONE CHECK THAT THE RESTAURANT IS OPEN TO GUESTS OR YOU ARE IN FOR A PICNIC.

Arrived at the hotel after a full day's travel. Staff on reception very welcoming and helpful. Grabbed a bite to eat in the bar/restaurant, which was freshly prepared by the chef. Had a really refreshing night's sleep, as the hotel location was so peaceful and tranquil. Checked out extremely easily before making my way back onto the M1 to travel into London for a business meeting.

Sharon was very attentive, I ordered egg and prawn salad , no prawns! So had egg salad. When it arrived it was a few lettuce leaves with two eggs. Sharon ensured I had a lite yoghurt and apple to add. This was without asking and just shows she was looking after her guests and she remembered I was on a diet.

This is a good hotel to stay at if you are in the Milton Keynes / Newport Pagnall area. It is out of town and thus quiet.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Room was comfortable.
Only very slight comment is the choice of channels on the TV - but that is a very minor point

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. It is in need of a major refurbishment and if completed the hotel could be excellent. It is in a good location just off the M1. As it is the hotel is tired. Reception was very slow; there was no recognition at first of IHG Platinum Membership and I had to search out someone to serve in the bar. The staff were pleasant but I thought either undertrained or over-stretched.
TV did not work with "bare" connection lying on desk beside it.
My main complaint was a £4.50 charge on room-service tray which on a main course meal of about £10.50 .is just short of 50%. On raising this I was told it was HQ policy. It is the highest I have experienced even in 5 star hotels
