I have been in lot of hotels in my life big and small ones and I would like to say big thanks for all staff at this hotel, as they have made my stay better than I would expect. I will recommend this hotel to my friends as I have really enjoyed my stay.

I booked over the phone with a lovely lady called Michelle who went out of her way for me to arranged everything & when I arrived I was greeted by Patricia who was very friendly and helpful.

As usual, I enjoyed my staying at this hotel. Staff nice and kind. Room confortable and clean. Location of the hotel on a very quiet place.

Hotel is now in desperate need of a refurbishment. The rooms are in a sorry state and the bathrooms are old and dirty. Bath handles are loose the grouting is black and under the soap dispenser I don't think that had been wiped in days, but, the worse of all is the toilet not seen a cleaning product or brush in weeks, serious action plans are needed in the housekeeping department.

We have showed this as recommended, as overall it served our purpose at this time. Generally, however, this location needs an investment. The rooms and common areas look very tired. The bathroom in particular was not great, and we had a great deal of trouble with the shower. We were there as a large group for a wedding (staying there only, event was elsewhere), so the excitement of the event helped overcome disappointments with the location.
Good location for the area, and lots of parking.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Friendly staff let down by poor quality facilities
I had one of the friendliest welcomes I have ever experienced from a receptionist who's name I regret I did not note. The room and hotel itself were also very pleasant. Unfortunately, that impression did not linger.
The air conditioning and WiFi did not work in either of the two rooms we booked. One room was too hot; the other too cold and neither could be adjusted. These issues persisted for the duration of our 3 night stay despite mentioning them to the receptionist the morning after arriving.
Bar service was slow but friendly enough and the restaurant was OK - we only ate there once for dinner and had breakfast once also; the cooked breakfast was warm rather than hot which was disappointing.
My biggest problem was the bed; while the selection of firm or soft pillows was great, the mattress was so soft that it was like sleeping on a sponge or bouncy castle.
I'll stick with Reading South in future !
