I travel frequently to Chicago and stay at this location due to it's proximity to where I visit on business. Over the past year I find there are more times that my room has an issue due to lack of maintenance than there are times without. My latest stay was the proverbial last straw. The blinds had about an 18" tear that someone had attempted to fix with clear carton sealing tape. The sofa had about a 4" cut with the stuffing exposed in the back of it. The stopper for the tub was not connected and just laying across the drain.
I also had one night with a group of kids running and hollering in the hall outside my door after 11:00 PM. I called the front desk and I was told that security was on the way. After another 15 minutes I had to ask the kids to quiet down myself.
If I wanted to stay in a hotel that considers this acceptable for their guests I would stay at a low cost hotel and get what I am paying for

Good for the price. But two weird things: The thicker curtains are only a quarter of the window's width so there is not way to block out the light or have privacy. The thinner lining does cover the window but lets in light and is not very private.
Also, the rooms and hallways had a stale smell to them. Not nasty, but just mildly off-putting.

The Holiday Inn at Skokie, Illinois was a great place to stay. Room was clean and bright, king size bed was comfortable. Restaurant had great food and they were very accommodating for a special order snack we ordered. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This was my first time staying a this specific Holiday Inn. Overall, I did get the stay I expected and did get an accurate price, but the overall quality of the hotel and staff was less than desirable. When I had booked this room, and I am not a stranger to staying at Holiday Inns, I had mentioned I had a pet, and the person I booked through reassured me it would be applied to the reservation. When I checked in, there was no record that we had a pet and we had to change the type of room we were in which did not make the stay so nice. Overall cleanliness of the room was kind of poor; dirty bathtub, rough towels and some stains on the bedding. The internet was slow, the parking situation was terrible due to an event taking place at the hotel. Half the equipment in the fitness center was broken and was overridden by children under the appropriate age who were loud, kept going in and out of the room. Due to the event taking place, the hotel was also very loud and not quiet whatsoever! The only nice part was knowing our dog was safe, and the price. I guess you get what you pay for.

Lack of service continues....no hot water the first night and told the front desk and they sent someone up, but did not fix it till the following day.
Also asked for a blanket and could not make that happen either.
The GM is very friendly, the maid service is great, but the front desk staff needs to find out what it means to deliver great customer service.
My last time I stayed the heater did not work in the middle of January.
Hotel needs to figure out what it means to delivery Great customer service!
