I travel often to Italy from the US as my whole family is in ITALY, and I own a house there..I travel on Carnival /Cunard. Southampton is my stopover, theHoliday Inn my choice stay. I have been a client for more than a decade. I like to spend time here to rest between long grueling travels. The Holiday Inn hotel in South Hampton, UK is conforting and confortable. The personnell and management are professionals and they obviously care for their visitors. I will continue with pleasure stopping here, I will reccommend it to listeners and readers with sincerity. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight accomodation prior to embarkation on QM2 Stay at the Holiday Inn in Southampton prior to boarding the QM2 - hotel is in a very good location, good view of the ships from the windows, room was clean and beds comfortable, breakfast was good and staff were friendly and helpful - happy to stay here anytime in the future May 29, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Standards are slipping This was our 5th pre-cruise stay at the Mayflower Park and there had been a noticeable down shift in standards across the hotel. IHG charge premium rate for this location due to proximity to the docks and on this occasion fell short of the mark. The Holiday Inn at Fareham has cheaper rates for like for like rooms. Especially annoying was the closure of the pool for a "Baby" photo shoot for 6 Hours!! on a Sunday afternoon with out thought for other guests. No attempt at segregation to leave even a swim lane. When questioned the answer was "they take photos underwater". So did Jacque's Cousteau and he never minded other swimmers. Come on IHG when it comes to The Mayflower its time to step up to the mark. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional Service from Andy! Stayed for one night prior to our cruise. The hotel arranged a taxi to/from Ocean Terminal and parking for the duration and B&B. After boarding the ship I discovered that i had left my wife's Birthday Present in the room we had just vacated. One call to the hotel and they called me back to say that they had found the gift and if I could get off the ship they would meet me outside the Ocean Terminal. After disembarking and getting past security i received a phone call from Andy from the hotel saying he was outside the terminal. Many thanks to Andy from the Holiday Inn Southampton. I was able to present my wife with a lovely gift over dinner during our cruise. We were very impressed with this level of service. A big thank you to Andy. May 24, 2015

Would recommend this way of starting your cruise from Southampton as it takes the stress out of travelling on the day of your cruise. Julie in reception was very understanding about our problem and managed to find us accommodation and enabled us to keep the same room for a further 2 days: please pass on our thanks. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by small hard bed and dirty carpet The beds are only double size and we are used to larger, and they also have very hard mattresses. The carpet was heavily stained and needed cleaning at the very least. We stayed in the same hotel again 2 days later and were given a much nicer room. May 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good stay Experience We stayed for just the one night before embarking on a cruise and the cost of our stay included up to 14 nights car parking which was ideal for our requirements, along with transport to and from the dock using a private taxi company. The overall experience was great with friendly staff, clean comfortable room and a good breakfast. Parking was on site which was nice and they did not take your car keys away from you so our car was where we left it, still intact with no damage. We would certainly recommend the Southampton Holiday Inn. May 21, 2015
