I always stay at the Holiday Inn-Ballston when I travel to Alexandria for business. Always clean, friendly, and comfortable.

Great location. Only a few minutes walk from Ballston metro station, shopping center and supermarket.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pete499 Convenient location, friendly staff
Good location, friendly staff, comfortable room. Join the loyalty club for free wifi. I also chose the package with breakfast which was well worth it given the options in the area are pricey. Good experience and will stay here again when I visit the area.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by John C108 Lack of TV Channels
I could not believe I was unable to watch a Nationally televised hockey game between your local team an another team. Even in the lounge area this station which by the way is part of the NBC family was not available. I actually had to go over to another hotel in the area and watch the game over there but I really had wanted to watch it in my room. Very disappointing to the point of despite me always staying there when I come to Ballston I will now have to think about it in the future based on if I want to watch anything special on tv.

Good bed and pillows. The TV channels need to add some movie channels.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JF60 OK, would rather be home
The hotel itself is a perfectly good and normal hotel, which does what it sets out to do quite competently, but gives me the same niggles that almost all other hotels I stay in for business trips do. It is a normal sort of hotel more concerned with maintaining identical form to all the other sites of the same brand and full of grand ponciness. I would much rather a kettle than a coffee maker - can produce tasteless boiled water. And firm pillows instead of the typical too soft hotel pillows. And a desk and chair of matching heights for good ergonomics for extended work. And a simple TV which will stay on the channel I last used when I turn it on, just like at home. And a good, bright, whole room light instead of the normal hotel design that leaves the room dark. And the food is always an attempt to be kind of fancy instead of just good homely food, such as one would get from a country pub in England, or even in one's own house. I would love to stay in a hotel which in its form reflects the local distinctiveness of where it is so that it gives an experience of being where you are, without falling into the cliché version of the place. What I really want is a hotel that makes me feel like I am living in my house.
