I have stayed in the Holiday In n Binghamton at least 30 times and have always been very satisfied. This time I was very disappointed. I stayed in the hotel July 15-17, 2015, because my daughter attends Binghamton University and we were visiting. I am a Holiday Inn Platinum member and was recognized upon check in, and I was told I would be upgraded to a suite. This was offered to me, I did not request it. The room #714 was definitely not a suite, in fact it was one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in at any Holiday Inn hotel. The rooms in the express are bigger. We were tired after a long trip and the room was not that important, so I did not notify the desk. The next day we visited my daughter at the University and came back to the hotel about 11pm. The room was made up, but there was no toilet paper. The toilet paper holder has room for 2 rolls and there was only a half of one roll when we arrived. I called the desk and was told they would send someone up. In all fairness the room was made up and spotless. After about an hour the staff did not come and we decided to go to bed and call in the morning. I called the desk repeatedly at 6am and I did not get an answer. I called again at 630am and was told the hotel staff would be right up. Nobody came and we checked out at about 830am. Luckily we did not have need for the toilet paper. I did some work in a hotel and I believe the desk staff was delivering the customer bills to the rooms, and this is the reason I did not get an answer when I called at 6am. This is not an Holiday Inn Express, but a fairly large hotel. It seems there is not enough employees to properly staff a hotel of this size. No upgrade, no toilet paper, no excuse.

This hotel is an incredibly accommodating hotel. Easy to access, easy to park, easy to access rooms. There are no long walks required.
The dining area is vast and clean, with nice views of the adjacent river.
As a family of 5, we appreciate all that Holiday Inn offers us which is why we are IHG members. Everywhere we travel we stay at IHG hotels, we have never been disappointed.

On our first visit we were looking for a Special place to dine for my Birthday. We came from NJ. The Desk Clerk made several suggestions of which one was "Number " which was a Firehouse 30 yrs ago and converted to a Beautiful unique place to Dine. Well, we have come to the Holiday Inn ever since.. We look forward to the visit On Fridays when we visited they have on the outside area behind the Hotel a Barbeque with music, food and dancing. So nice and relaxing. Beautiful.

The room was immaculate so, of course I left a tip. Although I am retired from the United States Air Force I have also had past positions of employment as a Director, Manager and Supervisor of housekeeping operations in healthcare and eldercare facilities so, I really do appreciate cleanliness :)
Kudos to all the staff and management of this fine establishment!! We'll be staying there again someday for sure.
