My daughter and I stayed here for a College Visit to Buffalo State. The hotel was convenient and nice. There was City transportation nearby to take us to the College. We visited downtown Allentown district, more restaurants and people. The only pet peeves were that the hotel has one restaurant and small staff. we wanted to have dinner, we arrived at the entrance, there was no hostess to greet us. We waited a few minutes and left after seeing the place was packed with people, who were not eating. It was obvious the people hadnt ordered yet and we didnt have all night to wait to eat. Also there was no microwave or fridge in the room. I later read in the hotel brochure that they charge $10 per night for both which is insane! I have never heard of such nonsense for a hotel. The hotel needs to include these items and not inconvenience customers.

This is a tired old building but suits the purpose for a one night stay. Elevators were very slow. Dust bunnies behind the curtains in the room. Took a half an hour for the toilet to refill. Lots of minor stuff but nothing major. Easy walk to the famous Anchor Bar. Easy drive to the downtown sports venues.

The front desk workers were beyond horrible. They did not try helping us with our problem at all, they actually just made it worse because they were so rude to us. I would not stay at this hotel again. We debated actually just driving the 3 hours home at 11:30 at night.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bflojim Old downtown hotel, good access to uptown and downtown
they have done a good job keeping this older Holiday Inn up to date. It's nice that parking is free compared to other downtown Buffalo hotels. Good safe area with 24 hour Walgreens next door. Easy and safe walking distance to downtown and Elmwood strip. It would be a good idea to make the outdoor pool an indoor pool considering the nature of the climate in this area.

The staff was friendly, well-trained, knowledgeable and very pleasant. The waitstaff in the bar and restaurant were great. I stayed here some years ago while working on the Roswell Cancer Center, and knew the hotel to be of a known quality. I'll be back up for more work in the future as Buffalo expands its high-tech medical research base. Although the hotel is old and worn, the people make the stay worth the 6 1/2 hour drive.

This is an older facility that have been modernized over the years. I know, I used to work there in the 70s.
On the most part, my stays have been good to very good. During this last visit, there were issues that resulted in a fair to good rating.
On a very positive note, the management and staff were very friendly and hospitable.

All in all it was a very comfortable stay and convenient to the schools we were visiting. It would be a better value if breakfast were included instead of getting coupons for a percentage of off meals in the restaurant. We were tired in the evening and it was pouring out so it was nice to have a restaurant in the hotel.
