Very dated hotel. Only thing that felt clean were the sheets and towels. Ceiling was peeling in the bath, room was very dark, towel rack was broken. Room was too small for two double beds.
Restaurant staff was slow, and seemed annoyed we were there for lunch (only guests there at the time). At breakfast, we were directed to the self coffee and buffet, given no menu as another option. Coffee tasted like it was a day old.
On the plus side, the bartender was wonderful and friendly. The restaurant has a lovely view of Charleston, but our room view was a rooftop and parking lot.
Check out was easy, which was good because we wanted to get out of there.

The help from the staff was superior. They were friendly and attentive to needs. Chad was especially helpful in seeing that my stay was comfortable which meant a lot since I was traveling alone to see my sister in the hospital.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wandering Bob Fabulous View, Comfortable Rooms, Unique Location
We enjoyed our stay in the Holiday Inn Charleston-Riverview. The staff were very attentive and courteous, the hotel clean and well maintained, and the rooms comfortable. The view of the river and Charleston from the restaurant on the top floor is fabulous. The hotel is located between the north and south bound lanes of route 17 as it approaches the draw bridge to Charleston. This makes access to the hotel quite easy if a little harrowing as you merge in or out of high speed traffic. It also leads to noticeable traffic noise during the morning rush hour. So, do not expect to sleep in.
Our biggest problem was navigating to and from Charleston. The streets can be confusing, and our GPS refused to recognize that there was access to the hotel parking area from both north and southbound route 17.
