Need to update bathrooms

Spire Ambassador

My wife and i stay in this property 3 or 4 times per year teh last being the weekend before thanksgiving. Of course because I am a Spire member when I travel I look for IHG hotels. One of the amenities I look for is full service in order to visit the lounge after a day of visiting Grandchildren which draws me to this property due to it's locality. I usually am pretty understanding and can deal with most things but because of our last visit in May I was not going to be my generous self this time. Two things that I am bringing up I hope will be rectified before our next visit at Christmas.

First night their we went to the lounge, there was no patrons there at the time and the first thing out of the bar persons mouth was I am closing at 9. (I think that was the said time) The closing time did not bother me but the fact it was the first thing said indicated that we were being an inconvenience, and her expression back upped what was said. We walked out.

The next item was the room, the room itself was better then in May, drapes were not damaged, walls looked fresh and was clean. However the bathroom was another story. It was clean but the tub area was worn terribly, the tile had signs of mildew, grout was weak and missing and lastly the grab bar was loose and the tub drain plug would not stay closed.

These are the reasons I gave an average rating

One last item that is not as important but I have to know the answer, I never seem to get upgraded in this property, I was told once by an employee of this hotel that because I use a corporate number they are not allowed. I find this very hard to believe as all of my stays at IHG properties use this same corporate number and always am upgraded.
