Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 updated, clean and close to downtown I've been going to Ft Myers for 40 years. this was my first stay at the Holiday Inn downtown and it was very nice. The hotel is updated and clean. The staff was friendly. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Its a nice location close to waterfront dining and the downtown historic district. Its about 25 minutes to Sanibel or Ft Myers beach. The wireless internet service is a bit spotty. February 27, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice stay Hotel has been remodeled and is comfortable. Desk staff are very attentive. Housekeeping took sheets and towels from room and failed to replace them. The manager on duty took care of the issue herself (kudos to her!). The cable TV was subpar (very poor reception and analog) and the ice machine on our floor was not operating. February 23, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely Dissapointed I was very disappointed with this hotel. When I first arrived, the lady at the reception area was so busy having a conversation with someone that worked there, I had to wait for her conversation to end before she attended to me. She actually yelled out o me over the person she has speaking with "Are you checking in" and when I said yes, she tells the guy "let me check this guy in", very unprofessional. Then I tell her I want my stay to be billed to my corporate card, she asked if it was faxed over, I said yes, I have the confirmation. Well...she couldn't find it...SHOCKER! She got so flustered she gave me my key and said "just go, I'm sure we will find it". WOW!!! Luckily, I was able to get it faxed over again on my end and not get hit with the bill. The room was very dissapointing. The bathroom of all places smelled like sweaty armpits, yup, sweaty armpits. The A/C didn't work right and the desk that I worked on was absolutely disgusting. It was sticky and everything. I decided to wiped the desk chair down just in case and what do you know, the towel was absolutely black when I was done wiping it down. Now, lets talk about the shuttle bus. For some insane reason, this place parks their shuttle bus in the front of the hotel, in from of rooms. This thing backs in every hour and you have the pleasure of hearing it go, beep...beep...beep over and over again. If you get lucky like me, you'll get a driver that can't park and it last for about 5 minutes...EVERY HOUR. Let's talk about the restaurant. I walk in there to have dinner and the first thing I'm told is "the kitchen is running really behind" I ask, how behind? She says, "I really can't tell you". Well, I figure, I'll get a beer and ask for a Club Sandwich. That sandwich took close to 30 minutes. The worst part...their tv's didn't work, so you get to sit there in absolute silence. Breakfast wasn't much better. The people stare at you through the kitchen door window like if were animals at a zoo. I went to get a cup of water and it tasted disgusting. When I looked in my cup, there was pieces of something black in it. Explains why it tasted bad. The staff barely acknowledges you, no good morning, good evening, just oblivious. You can do MUCH better for the money. I actually checked out a day early and went home. Couldn't take it anymore. EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED! February 20, 2015
